"Super storm" Sandy regains hurricane strength

MIAMI (Reuters) - Tropical cyclone Sandy revved back up to hurricane strength on Saturday as it churned toward the U.S. northeast coast where it threatens to become one of the worst storms in decades. The late-season storm has been dubbed "Frankenstorm" by some weather watchers because it will combine elements of a tropical cyclone and a winter storm and is forecast to reach the U.S. coast close to Halloween.
Forecast models show it will have all the ingredients to morph into a so-called "super storm."Governors in states along the U.S. East Coast declared emergencies on Friday, with officials urging residents to stock up on food, water and batteries. The U.S. Navy ordered all ships in the Norfolk, Virginia, area, including a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, out to sea to ride out the approaching storm."We're expecting a large, large storm," said Louis Uccellini, director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Center for Environmental Prediction. "The circulation of this storm as it approaches the coast could cover about the eastern third of the United States."Sandy battered the Bahamas southeast of Florida on Friday after causing widespread destruction in eastern Cuba a day earlier. The storm was expected to crawl northward on Saturday and Sunday and then turn toward the U.S. coast.Sandy's powerful winds and rains were blamed for 41 deaths in several Caribbean countries, including 11 in Cuba. Most were killed by falling trees and building collapses. On its current projected track, Sandy could make U.S. landfall on Monday night or Tuesday somewhere between North Carolina and southern New England, forecasters said. The storm has the potential to cause widespread power outages and to unleash flooding and even dump snow as far inland as Ohio. It also threatens to disrupt air travel along the U.S. East Coast. At 8 a.m. EDT (1 p.m. British Time), Sandy was about 335 miles (540 km) southeast of Charleston, South Carolina, and packing top sustained winds of 75 miles (120 km) per hour, the U.S. National Hurricane Center. It had earlier dropped just below hurricane strength but little overall change on strength was expected ahead of its anticipated U.S. landfall early next week, the Miami-based Hurricane Center said. The storm picked up a little forward speed overnight but was still moving slowly over the Atlantic at 10 mph (17 kph).
PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
The massive storm has continued to grow in size with tropical force winds extending 450 miles (725 km) from its centre, government forecasters said.Coming in the final weeks before the U.S. presidential election on November 6, the storm was presenting a challenge to the campaigns of U.S. President Barack Obama and his Republican challenger Mitt Romney.Romney cancelled a rally scheduled for Sunday evening in Virginia Beach, Virginia, while Obama's re-election campaign announced that Vice President Joe Biden had also cancelled a Saturday trip to that city.Ahead of the election, millions of Americans are taking advantage of early voting arrangements to cast their ballots. State officials said they had put in place contingency plans in case Sandy caused extended power outages or other problems that could disrupt voting. In New York City, officials were considering shutting down the country's largest mass transit system because they were worried the storm's impact could cause flooding or high winds that might endanger subways and buses.
Much of Florida's northeast coast was under a tropical storm warning and storm warnings and watches extended up the coast through most of South Carolina and North Carolina.Along North Carolina's Outer Banks, which jut out into the Atlantic, vacationers in large camper trailers and motor homes streamed off the barrier islands. Many forecasters are warning that Sandy could be more destructive than last year's Hurricane Irene, which caused billions of dollars in damage across the U.S. Northeast.(Additional reporting by Tom Brown in Miami, Desmond Boylan in Cuba, Neil Hartnell in Nassau, Patricia Zengerle in Washington, Barbara Goldberg in New York and Gene Cherry on Hatteras Island, North Carolina; Editing by David Adams, Andrew Osborn and Vicki Allen)

Liberman says plans for joint Knesset run with Likud began a year ago

Yisrael Beytenu head calls for fewer political parties, denies report of rotating premiership and says he will likely stay at the Foreign Ministry

October 26, 2012, 3:08 pm 1 -THE TIMES OF ISRAEL
Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman held a press conference Friday to address questions regarding the announced partnership between his nationalist Yisrael Beytenu party and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party to run for the Knesset on a joint list.According to Liberman, discussions about the joint election list began a year ago, and a final decision was reached between interested parties two months ago. It was unclear Friday whether the foreign minister was alluding to inter-party negotiations given denials by several top Likud figures, who said they were surprised by the deal. More likely, he meant secret talks between the prime minister and himself.“We’re establishing the broad and historic national camp that led the country for many years,” the Soviet-born Liberman stated. Elections are to be held on January 22. Thursday’s Likud-Yisrael Beytenu alliance has prompted new calls for center-left parties such as Kadima, Labor and Yesh Atid to run together as well, though Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid ruled himself out of such an alliance. The foreign minister touted the efficacy of a coalition comprised of larger factions: “Everyone understands that it’s easier and more proper to run a country with large parties, rather than with splinter parties whose lifespan equals one term [in office].“Whoever votes for such splinter parties, which are devoid of ideology, understands that he’s throwing his vote into the trash bin of history,” Liberman added. He stressed that Israel must transition to a system of large parties, possibly four or five of them “to ensure governability and stability.”The foreign minister said his party would have to compromise in an effort to achieve a common platform with Likud. The Yisrael Beytenu chief denied a Channel 2 report on Thursday that indicated he and the prime minister had agreed to a rotational premiership, whereby Netanyahu would serve as prime minister for the first three years with Liberman taking over the top job in year four.“I never raised the possibility of a rotation,” Liberman told reporters. “What we have here is my support for Netanyahu as a candidate for the prime ministership, for the full term.”Regarding his role in the next government, Liberman said he would likely choose to remain at the Foreign Ministry.

Outrage as UN Report Calls for Israel Boycott

The United Nations official responsible for investigating Israel-PA affairs has openly expressed support for a boycott of all companies doing business with Israelis east of the 1949 armistice line.In his latest report, UN special rapporteur on Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories Richard Falk has called for a boycott on all companies tied to Israeli towns in Judea and Samaria.Falk included “settlement expansion” as one of the reasons to boycott. His statements have been severely condemned by Israel and its allies. Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird, quoted by the AFP news agency, called on Falk to “either withdraw this biased and disgraceful report – or resign from his position at the United Nations.”Falk has “not only done a disservice to the United Nations, but also to the Palestinian people,” Baird charged.Israel condemned Falk’s statements as “grossly biased.” United States UN Ambassador Susan Rice rejected his statements as well, saying, “His call for a boycott of private companies is irresponsible and unacceptable.”Falk’s boycott statements “do nothing to further a peaceful settlement to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and indeed poison the environment for peace,” she added.Israeli experts say that Israel’s civilian communities in Judea and Samaria are legal under international law. The Palestinian Authority, backed by much of the international community, claims that the territories won by Jordan in 1949, and retaken by Israel in 1967, rightfully belong to Arab residents of the area for the establishment of a new Arab state.Richard Falk was appointed by the UN Human Rights Council, not by UN Chief Ban-Ki-Moon. The Human Rights Council is notoriously anti-Israel, and has gone so far as to conduct its own probes criticizing Israel in cases where other official UN reports are more balanced.Falk’s mission was criticized from the beginning due to his biased mandate, under which he is to examine Israeli Jewish violations of Arab rights, with no mention of Arab terrorism or other Arab violations of Israeli rights. The appointment of Falk, specifically, also came under fire due to his past extremist statements, including claims of a U.S. cover-up in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

And here are the bounderies of the land that Israel will inherit either through war or peace or God in the future. God says its Israels land and only Israels land. They will have every inch God promised them of this land in the future.

Over 13,000 at Rachel’s Tomb as Celebrations Begin

More than 13,000 have already visited Rachel’s Tomb in honor of the Biblical matriarch’s passing; more to comeBy Maayana Miskin First Publish: 10/26/2012, 1:00 PM

Rachel's Tomb
Rachel's Tomb--Arutz Sheva
More than 13,000 people visited Rachel’s Tomb (Kever Rachel) on Thursday as the anniversary of the Biblical matriarch’s passing approaches. This year the anniversary of the matriarch Rachel’s passing falls on the Sabbath, when observant Jews do not travel. Those marking the anniversary are compensating by moving celebrations of her life to the days immediately before and after. So far everything has gone smoothly, says Rabbi Yosef Shwinger, who oversees the site. The credit goes to bus drivers who have avoided causing traffic snarls and worshipers who have chosen to move through the site relatively quickly, allowing others to take their place, he said.Staff at the site held several meetings with security personnel, police and more while arranging events, he noted. The site has been the scene of attacks on several previous occasions; in one particularly severe instance, Jewish worshipers were stranded inside the prayer compound as dozens of Arabs launched an attack outside. To keep traffic moving at the site private vehicles will not be allowed in until after the memorial celebrations. Those traveling by car can park at Jerusalem’s Teddy Stadium and take a shuttle bus to the tomb. Egged's 163 bus goes to the site from Jerusalem's central bus station.

3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

EZEKIEL 7:19

National Guard Whistleblower: “Doomsday Preppers Will Be Treated As Terrorists”

Melissa Melton

October 25, 2012
I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic…”
So begins the Oath of Enlistment for the U.S. military, but in an explosive interview with a National Guard whistleblower shown below, soldiers are now being advised they will be ordered to break that oath should civil unrest erupt across the country.
photo
Referred to only as “Soldier X” under promise of anonymity, an Army National Guardsman spoke via phone with Infowars Nightly News Producer Rob Dew regarding a recent briefing his unit underwent on actions the military would take in the event that an Obama election loss sparked rioting in America’s streets.Citing not only recent widespread threats to riot if Mitt Romney were to become the next U.S. president, but threats to actually assassinate him should he win, Soldier X’s superiors dispensed plans of how the National Guard would be responsible for “taking over” and quelling such unrest. The soldiers were reportedly told “Doomsday preppers will be treated as terrorists.”In addition, guns will be confiscated.“They have a list compiled of all these doomsday preppers that have gone public and they plan to go after them first,” Soldier X said. He claimed those in charge are acting under the belief that preppers will be “the worst part” of any potential civil unrest.Soldier X was also told that any soldiers in the ranks who are known as preppers will be deemed “defects.” He explained the label meant these soldiers would be treated as traitors. “If you don’t conform, they will get rid of you,” he added.Unit members also warned not to associate with any fellow soldiers who are preppers. Not only does the military reportedly plan to target preppers should mass chaos break out, but Soldier X also voiced his concerns regarding civilian gun confiscation.Soldier X admitted, “Our worry is that Obama’s gonna do what he said he’s gonna do and he’s gonna outlaw all weapons altogether and anybody’s name who is on a weapon, they’re gonna come to your house and try to take them.”It would not be the first time the National Guard has been used to unconstitutionally disarm law-abiding citizens, robbing them of their Second Amendment right to bear arms. In the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, police and military took to the streets disarming lawful gun owners, including  those who were on dry land and had plenty of stored food and water.Fast forward to this past summer when a leaked Army manual dated 2006 entitled, “Civil Disturbance Operations” surfaced outlining plans not only to confiscate firearms domestically during mass unrest, but to actually detain and even kill American citizens who refuse to hand over their guns. This manual works in conjunction with “FM 3-39.40 Internment and Resettlement Operations,” another Army manual leaked this year, which instructs troops on how to properly detain and intern Americans into re-education camps, including ways that so-called “psy-op officers” will “indoctrinate” incarcerated “political activists” into developing an “understanding and appreciation of U.S. policies and actions.”Add these manuals to the plethora of Executive Orders Obama has signed during his term which have dismantled our Constitution piece by piece, including the martial law implementing National Defense Resources Preparedness Executive Order which gives the president the power to confiscate citizens’ private property in the event of any national emergency, including economic.Add it all to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) in which Obama granted powers to disappear and indefinitely detain American citizens without any due process, and it is easy to see the tyrannical big picture our government has painted. When asked if he would go along with gun confiscation, Soldier X replied he and his fellow like-minded guardsmen planned to stand down — not answer the phone or show up to post.
“I’m sorry but I don’t believe in suicide,” he said.Preppers are becoming regular government targets these days, most recently when a Missisippi prepper group member with a clean record was suddenly taken off his flight halfway to Japan and informed he was on the no-fly list, an FBI terrorist watchlist, stranding him in Hawaii. Other preppers have been denied their Second Amendment rights without legitimate cause.
It is beyond glaringly obvious at this point the U.S. government is gearing up for mass civil unrest. Not only has the DHS sparked controversy by purchasing billions of rounds of ammo, but the department even went so far as to begin classifying further purchases, blacking out bullet figures it is using taxpayer money to buy.
In addition, while FEMA can procure a billion dollars in bulk food supplies, the FBI’s Communities Against Terrorism project released a flier instructing military surplus store owners to report any customers who “make bulk purchases of items” including “meals ready to eat”.Should society as we know it collapse following the election, it would seem the ultimate prepper and the ultimate terrorist is, indeed, the U.S. government.

European Union Lauds Soviet State

Kurt Nimmo
Infowars.com
October 25, 2012
Although the Soviet Union officially ended in 1991, apparatchiks working in the name of European “integration” are using the communist hammer and sickle, the coat of arms of organized mass murder. The symbol appears on a poster for the European Commission, the executive body of the European Union.“For three generations, the badge of the Soviet revolution meant poverty, slavery, torture and death,” writes Daniel Hannan. “It adorned the caps of the chekas who came in the night. It opened and closed the propaganda films which hid the famines. It advertised the people’s courts where victims of purges and show-trials were condemned. It fluttered over the re-education camps and the gulags. For hundreds of millions of Europeans, it was a symbol of foreign occupation. Hungary, Lithuania and Moldova have banned its use, and various former communist countries want it to be treated in the same way as Nazi insignia.”The symbol of German fascism, the swastika, is of course absent from the design. But if the rulers of the EU were honest, they’d include it too. In fact, it would replace the communist hammer and sickle as the dominant symbol on this advertisement. As the Red House Report revealed, the Nazis planned for a Fourth Reich as the Third Reich crumbled. “The Third Reich was defeated militarily, but powerful Nazi-era bankers, industrialists and civil servants, reborn as democrats, soon prospered in the new West Germany. There they worked for a new cause: European economic and political integration,” writes Adam Lebor. Paul Joseph Watson cited Lebor in 2009. “Lebor reveals how he uncovered US Military Intelligence report EW-Pa 128, also known as The Red House Report, which details how top Nazis secretly met at the Maison Rouge Hotel in Strasbourg on August 10, 1944 and, knowing Germany was on the brink of military defeat, conspired to create a Fourth Reich – a pan-European economic empire based around a European common market,” Watson writes.A decade later, former SS Officer Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands was gathering the “future Dictators of Europe” at the Bilderberg Hotel in Oosterbeek, Holland. By 1955, they were plotting the European Union and a single European currency nearly forty years before the Maastricht Treaty in 1992.

Hurricane Sandy slogs toward U.S., kills 31 in Caribbean

NASSAU (Reuters) - Slow-moving Hurricane Sandy, a late season Atlantic storm unlike anything seen in more than two decades, slogged toward the U.S. East Coast on Friday after killing at least 31 people on a trail of destruction across the Caribbean.Forecasters said the storm, with an expanding wind field already 550 miles wide, had begun merging with a polar air mass over the eastern United States, potentially spawning a "hybrid" super storm that could wreak havoc along the U.S. East Coast."Its structure is evolving as we speak because it's interacting with this weather feature at higher levels of the atmosphere," said Todd Kimberlain, a forecaster at the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami."The models are suggesting that the storm could actually become better organized or intensify a little bit, not due to the normal processes than we would expect for a tropical cyclone but more related this weather feature," Kimberlain said. Most of Florida was under a tropical storm warning, and watches extended up the U.S. coast through North Carolina. Winds and rains generated by Sandy were being felt in south Florida.Late Thursday, Sandy weakened to a Category 1 storm as it tore though sparsely populated low-lying southeastern islands in the Bahamas, knocking out power and blowing rooftops off some homes. One storm-related death was reported in the Bahamas. Police said it was under investigation, but it occurred in Lyford Cay, a wealthy enclave of New Providence island that is home to the likes of actor Sean Connery, hedge fund billionaire Louis Bacon and Canadian fashion mogul Peter Nygard.Sandy's driving rains and heavy winds were blamed for a number of deaths elsewhere in the Caribbean. The Cuban government said Sandy killed 11 people when it barreled across the island on Thursday. At least 16 other lives were lost in deeply impoverished Haiti and three people were killed in the neighboring Dominican Republic and Jamaica. The Haitian dead included a family of five in Grand-Goave, west of the capital Port-au-Prince, killed in a landslide that destroyed their home, authorities said. The Cuban fatalities were unusual for the communist ruled country that has long prided itself on protecting its people from storms by ordering mass evacuations. The National Hurricane Center said Sandy was about 460 miles south-southeast of Charleston, South Carolina, late Friday morning and packing maximum sustained winds of 80 miles per hour (130 km per hour) on Friday morning.
'A CATASTROPHIC STORM'
Sandy is forecast to remain a Category 1 hurricane as it moves over the Bahama, sending swirling rains and winds across area including Florida. The Bahamas Electricity Corporation, which supplies power to most of the Bahamas, said Sandy had caused power outages on several islands.Sandy was expected to move past the Bahamas by Friday evening and churn north toward the U.S. coast. Its forward speed had slowed to just 6 mph, however, making its final trek across the central and northwest corner of the Bahamas island chain very slow going.Forecasters said Sandy was expected to come ashore in the northeastern United States late Monday or early Tuesday, and it could still be packing winds that are at or near hurricane force.Weather trackers said hard-hit areas, prone to storm surge and coastal or inland flooding, could span anywhere from the Carolinas up to Maine, with New York City and Boston both potentially in harm's way."There may be hurricane force winds but it would be more like a winter storm than anything else we're used to seeing," said Kimberlain. He said Sandy, dubbed "Frankenstorm" by another government forecast on Thursday, was unique because of its integration with the polar trough over the United States."We went through this same sort of thing back about 20 years ago around Halloween in 1991 with the 'Perfect Storm,'" he said.
Amid final preparations for the crucial November 6 presidential election, some forecasters are warning that Sandy could be more destructive than last year's Hurricane Irene, which caused billions of dollars in damage as it battered the U.S. Northeast and New England."This will then be a catastrophic storm for the Middle Atlantic and Northeast. It will not be a purely tropical system, with a core of powerful winds near the center, but rather more like a Nor'Easter, with strong winds over a larger area," said a forecast report on Friday from AccuWeather.com."Damaging winds will affect areas from Virginia up into New York and New England, leading to widespread power outages and property damage," it said.At $4.3 billion in losses, last year's Irene ranks as one of the 10 costliest hurricanes, adjusted for inflation and excluding federally insured damage, according to the Insurance Information Institute, an industry group.(Additional reporting by Jeff Franks and Nelson Acosta in Havana, Kevin Gray in Miami, Susana Ferreira in Port-au-Prince; Writing by Tom Brown; Editing by Lisa Shumaker and Vicki Allen)

Sandy pounds Bahamas after killing 29 in Caribbean

Posted: Oct 26, 2012 12:13 AM EDT Updated: Oct 26, 2012 12:04 PM EDT - WDOB 16
By JEFF TODD Associated Press NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) - Hurricane Sandy raged through the Bahamas early Friday after leaving 29 people dead across the Caribbean, following a path that could see it blend with a winter storm to hit the U.S. East Coast with a super-storm next week.Sandy knocked out power, flooded roads and cut off islands in the storm-hardened Bahamas as it charged through Cat Island and Eleuthera, with authorities reporting one death in the scattered archipelago.Sandy, which weakened to a category 1 hurricane Thursday night, caused havoc in Cuba Thursday, killing 11 people in eastern Santiago and Guantanamo provinces as its howling winds and rain toppled houses and ripped off roofs. Authorities said it was Cuba's deadliest storm since July 2005, when category 5 Hurricane Dennis killed 16 people and caused $2.4 billion in damage.Sandy also killed one person while battering Jamaica on Wednesday and 16 in Haiti, where heavy rains from the storm's outer bands caused flooding in the impoverished and deforested country. Police in the Bahamas said a 66-year-old man died after falling from his roof in upscale Lyford Cay late Thursday while trying to repair a window shutter. On Friday morning, the hurricane's center was about 25 miles (40 kilometers) north-northeast of Great Abaco Island in the Bahamas and 460 miles (740 kilometers) south-southeast of Charleston, South Carolina. Sandy was moving north at 6 mph (9 kph) with maximum sustained winds near 80 mph (130 kph).Government officials in the Bahamas said the storm seems to have inflicted the greatest damage on Cat Island, which took a direct hit, and Exuma, where there were reports of downed trees, power lines and damage to homes."I hope that's it for the year," said Veronica Marshall, a 73-year-old hotel owner in Great Exuma. "I thought we would be going into the night, but around 3 o'clock it all died down. I was very happy about that."In Long Island, farmers lost most of their crops and several roofs were torn off, said legislator Loretta Butler-Turner. The island is without power and many residents do not have access to fresh water, she said. With the storm projected to hit the Atlantic coast early Tuesday, there was a 90 percent chance that most of the U.S. East Coast would get steady gale-force winds, flooding, heavy rain and maybe snow starting Sunday and stretching past Wednesday, U.S. forecaster Jim Cisco said.A new tropical storm watch was issued early Friday for a section of the U.S. East Coast extending from Savannah, Ga., northward to North Carolina's Outer Banks. In the Bahamas, power was out on Acklins Island and most roads there were flooded, government administrator Berkeley Williams said.On Ragged Island in the southern Bahamas, the lone school was flooded."We have holes in roofs, lost shingles and power lines are down," said Charlene Bain, local Red Cross president. "But nobody lost a life, that's the important thing."
Russell, the emergency management official in Nassau, said docks on the western side of Great Inagua island had been destroyed and the roof of a government building was partially ripped off.Sooner Halvorson, a 36-year-old hotel owner from Colorado who recently moved to the Bahamas, said she and her husband, Matt, expected to ride out the storm with their two young children, three cats, two dogs and a goat at their Cat Island resort."We brought all of our animals inside," she said, though she added that a horse stayed outside. "She's a 40-year-old horse from the island. She's been through tons of hurricanes."In an announcement at the end of Cuba's Thursday night newscast, Cuban authorities said the island's 11 dead included a 4-month-old boy who was crushed when his home collapsed and an 84-year-old man in Santiago province. There were no reports of injuries at the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, but there were downed trees and power lines, said Kelly Wirfel, a base spokeswoman. Officials canceled a military tribunal session scheduled for Thursday for the prisoner charged in the 2000 attack on the Navy destroyer USS Cole.In Haiti, Joseph Edgard Celestin, a spokesman for the civil protection office, said the country's death toll stood at 16, including some who died while trying to cross storm-swollen rivers in southwestern Haiti. He did not provide specifics of how other people died.Officials reported flooding across Haiti, where many of the 370,000 people still displaced by the devastating 2010 earthquake scrambled for shelter. More than 1,000 people were evacuated from 11 quake settlements, according to the International Organization for Migration.Sandy was blamed for the death of an elderly man in Jamaica.___Associated Press writers Danica Coto in San Juan, Puerto Rico; Trenton Daniel in Port-au-Prince, Haiti; Seth Borenstein in Washington; and Fernando Gonzalez, Paul Haven, Andrea Rodriguez and Anne-Marie Garcia in Havana contributed to this report.

Rainstorms cause floods, fires around the country

Beginning in the early morning, storms hit various cities in Israel, harming the infrastructure and leaving whole streets flooded

October 26, 2012, 4:28 pm 0 - THE TIMES OF ISRAEL

Heavy rainfall and strong winds greeted Israelis on Friday morning as winter began to rear its head, causing joy that quickly turned into worry as the weather began to cause damage throughout the country, leaving behind floods and fires. In northern Israel, the rains were particularly destructive, causing fires in some spots and damaging the roads and infrastructure. Many streets in Haifa, Nahariya and other northern cities were flooded. In Haifa, apartments were flooded, causing material damage but no casualties. Elsewhere, heavy winds caused trees to topple over, hitting utility poles.Despite the heavy rainfall, reaching 60 millimeters in the Carmel area, according to Ynet News, the Sea of Galilee’s water levels only rose by a few millimeters.
According to weather forecasts, the rainy weather was set to continue throughout the day. On Saturday, however, temperatures were predicted to rise.

SINS OF PEOPLE

ISAIAH 5:20-25
20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:
23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!
24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
25 Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcases were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

2 TIMOTHY 3:1-5
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

1 TIMOTHY 1:9
9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

ROMANS 3:13-18
13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:
16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:
17 And the way of peace have they not known:
18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.

2 TIMOTHY 4:3-4
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

DECIEVERS WAXING WORSE AND WORSE.

2 TIMOTHY 3:13
13 But evil men and seducers (RAPERS AND SEX SIN DOERS) shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

MORE SIN SIGNS

EPHESIANS 5:5-8
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

NYC police officer charged in plot to kidnap, torture and cook women he found on database

A city police officer dreamed up plots to kidnap, torture, cook and eat at least 100 women whose photos, names and addresses he pulled from a confidential law enforcement database, authorities said Thursday.Gilberto Valle's fantasies about cannibalizing women — in one, he said he hoped to "cook her over low heat, keep her alive as long as possible" — were retrieved in a trail of emails, computer files and instant messages in online fetish chat rooms, and authorities said he was arrested because he was taking steps to carry them out.None of the women was harmed, although a prosecutor said some of the women knew Valle and he had stalked at least two of them at home or work — once in his police car in a "very intimidating fashion." Authorities said he had had lunch with one of them.Valle's estranged wife tipped authorities off to his chilling online activity, leading to his arrest, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press, speaking on condition of anonymity because the official wasn't authorized to speak publicly about an ongoing case.
Valle, 28, was held without bail on charges including kidnapping conspiracy and unauthorized use of law enforcement records. U.S. Magistrate Judge Henry Pitman called the charges against him "profoundly disturbing ... the most depraved, most dangerous conduct that can be imagined" and even more troubling because he is a police officer. Pitman said the charges of the steps Valle took to carry out the plot "suggest more than just talk."One document on Valle's computer was titled "Abducting and Cooking (Victim 1): A Blueprint," according to the criminal complaint. The file also had the woman's birth date and other personal information and a list of "materials needed" — a car, chloroform and rope."I was thinking of tying her body onto some kind of apparatus ... cook her over low heat, keep her alive as long as possible," Valle allegedly wrote in one exchange in July, the complaint says.In other online conversations, investigators said, Valle talked about the mechanics of fitting the woman's body into an oven (her legs would have to be bent), said he could make chloroform at home to knock a woman out and discussed how "tasty" one woman looked.
"Her days are numbered," he wrote, according to the complaint. That woman told the FBI she knew Valle and met him for lunch in July.Valle, who could face life in prison if convicted, sat quietly in a red T-shirt and jeans at his court appearance, answering one question with "yes, your Honor." No one answered the door to his home Thursday in a quiet, middle-class Queens neighborhood.Public defender Julia Gatto had asked for bail, saying the Valle was only guilty of a "deviant fantasy.""There's no actual crossing the line from fantasy to reality," Gatto said. "At worst this is someone who has sexual fantasies about people he knows and he talks about it on the Internet."But Valle was arrested because he was too close to carrying out the "grotesque and disturbing" plots, Assistant U.S. Attorney Hadassa Waxman said. He had "plans to kidnap, rape, torture, kill and eat the body parts of young women, some of whom the FBI has identified and they acknowledge knowing the defendant for a period of time," she said.Valle had created a computer catalogue with records of at least 100 women with their names, addresses and photos, the complaint says. Some of the information came from his unauthorized use of a restricted law enforcement database, authorities said. He claimed, according to the complaint, that he knew many of them."The allegations in the complaint really need no description from us," said Mary E. Galligan, acting head of the FBI's New York office. "They speak for themselves. It would be an understatement merely to say Valle's own words and actions were shocking."
The complaint alleges that in February, Valle negotiated to kidnap another woman — Victim 2 — for someone else, writing, "$5,000 and she's all yours."He told the buyer he was aspiring to be a professional kidnapper, authorities said."I think I would rather not get involved in the rape," the complaint said. "You paid for her. She is all yours, and I don't want to be tempted the next time I abduct a girl."It says he added: "I will really get off on knocking her out, tying up her hands and bare feet and gagging her. Then she will be stuffed into a large piece of luggage and wheeled out to my van."Cellphone data revealed that Valle made calls on the block where the woman lives, the complaint says. An FBI agent interviewed the woman, who told them that she didn't know him well and he was never in her home.Valle, a graduate of the University of Maryland, where he studied psychology and criminal justice, was suspended from the police force after his arrest.

Greece deal delayed by troika discord, government quarrels

Today @ 10:33 OCT 26,12 By Valentina Pop

BRUSSELS - The EU and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are at odds over how to fund Greece for two extra years, while the Greek government has still not reached a agreement on promised budget cuts needed for the next tranche of bailout money.Greek finance minister Yannis Stournaras spent a few hours in hospital on Thursday (25 October) where he was diagnosed with extreme fatigue and a viral infection.
The news came one day after he told Greek parliament that the government reached a deal with the troika of international lenders on granting Greece two more years to reach its deficit and debt targets. But EU officials in Brussels and the head of the European Central Bank - also part of the troika - promptly dismissed the announcement saying that talks are still ongoing. The left-wing junior party in the Greek government is opposed to labour market reforms which are part of the troika requirements."We refuse to accept the troika demands on labour issues ... We call on our European partners to withdraw the troika demands that scrap Greek workers' rights," the Democratic Left party said in a statement.Within the troika itself there is disagreement on how to fund the two extra years. The European Commission and the European Central Bank argue that since Greece is in worse economic shape than expected, the bailout target of reaching a debt of 120 percent of GDP in 2020 should be moved to 2022.The Washington-based IMF is against this, however. An IMF debt analysis presented to eurozone officials spoke of a debt level of 136 percent of GDP in 2020, and that in a "positive scenario" of economic growth and successful privatisations, Reuters reports.
Instead, the IMF want the Europeans to accept restructuring of debt - a taboo issue, particularly for Germany.Troika members are also at odds over how to fill a €16-30 billion funding gap that will emerge if Greece is given time until 2016 rather than 2014 to reach a budget surplus. The IMF would like to see the ECB and EU governments accept losses on the Greek bonds they hold, but its European partners are firmly against it.European ideas on how to fund the gap include allowing Greek banks to borrow money from the ECB; or the eurozone bailout fund (ESM) to buy back some of the existing debt; cutting the interest rate of existing loans and rolling their maturities. But none of these are expected to cover the entire funding gap.
German finance minister Wolfgang Schauble earlier this week told Die Zeit weekly that he would count on the opposition's support in the Bundestag if more money had to be given to Greece - an admission that his coalition is against it.

Canada joins Israel, US in calling for UN rapporteur’s removal

Canadian foreign affairs minister says Richard Falk’s report on settlements is ‘offensive and unhelpful’; Egyptian, Iranian diplomats call assessment fair and balanced

October 26, 2012, 10:52 am 8 -THE TIMES OF ISRAEL
Canada has joined Israel and the US in calling for the removal of the UN special investigator on human rights in the Palestinian territories, who on Thursday presented a report calling for a boycott of all companies that have dealings with Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem until they adhere to international rights standards and practices.A spokesman for Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird said Richard Falk’s report was “offensive and unhelpful.”“Canada calls on Mr. Falk to either withdraw this biased and disgraceful report — or resign from his position at the United Nations,” Rick Roth wrote in an email obtained by Canada’s CBC News.Israel and the US rushed to reject Falk’s report, accusing the UN special rapporteur of bias against Israel and calling for his removal.Israel’s UN Mission called the report “grossly biased” and called for Falk to be replaced.“Israel is deeply committed to advancing human rights and firmly believes that this cause will be better served without Falk and his distasteful sideshow,” said Karean Peretz, spokeswoman for the Israeli Mission. “While he spends pages and pages attacking Israel, Falk fails to mention even once the horrific human rights violations and ongoing terrorist attacks by Hamas.”US Ambassador Susan Rice called Falk “highly biased” and his appeal for a boycott “irresponsible and unacceptable.”“Mr. Falk’s recommendations do nothing to further a peaceful settlement to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and indeed poison the environment for peace,” she said in a statement. “His continued service in the role of a UN Special Rapporteur is deeply regrettable and only damages the credibility of the UN”In a report presented to the UN General Assembly, Falk said a number of Israeli-owned and multinational corporations headquartered in the US, Europe and Mexico appear to be violating international human rights and humanitarian laws by exploiting Palestinian resources and helping Israel construct illegal settlements and provide security for them. However, he said further investigations will be made to determine whether the allegations are well-founded.Falk said the call for a boycott is an effort to take infractions of international law seriously and “use what influence we have to change behavior.” He said the pace of Israeli settlement building has accelerated and Israel has ignored UN resolutions condemning the practice, so “there is a sense that what the UN says doesn’t count.”Falk, an American professor emeritus of international law at Princeton University, has previously angered Israel by comparing the Jewish state to Nazi Germany and accusing it of crimes against humanity because of its treatment of Palestinians. Israel has barred Falk from visiting the Palestinian territories. In the report, Falk reiterated his request that the Israeli government cooperate with his efforts, as he said it is required to do under the UN Charter. The Anti-Defamation League called on UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to rescind his preliminary endorsement of the report and to distance his office from Falk, who was appointed by the UN Human Rights Council. But in the General Assembly, representatives from several countries including Egypt and Iran called Falk’s report fair and balanced.

ISAIAH 17:1,12-14
1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.
12  Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations,(USELESS U.N) that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!
13  The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.
14  And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not.(ASSAD) This is the portion of them that spoil us,(ISRAEL) and the lot of them that rob us.

JEREMEIAH 49:23-27
23  Concerning Damascus.(SYRIA) Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea;(WAR SHIPS WITH NUKES COMING ON SYRIA) it cannot be quiet.
24  Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.
25  How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!
26  Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD of hosts.
27  And I will kindle a fire (NUKES OR BOMBS) in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Benhadad.(ASSADS PALACES POSSIBLY IN DAMASCUS)

Damascus car bomb shatters Syria truce

BEIRUT (Reuters) - A powerful car bomb exploded in Damascus on Friday, inflicting many casualties and buffeting a shaky temporary truce in the Syrian conflict on the occasion of a Muslim religious holiday.
State television said the "terrorist car bomb" had killed five people and wounded 32, according to "preliminary figures".Opposition activists said the bomb had gone off near a makeshift children's playground built for the Eid al-Adha holiday in the southern Daf al-Shok district of the capital.Fighting erupted around Syria earlier as both sides violated the Eid al-Adha ceasefire arranged by international peace envoy Lakhdar Brahimi, but violence was far less intense than usual. The Syrian military said it had responded to attacks by insurgents on army positions, in line with its announcement on Thursday that would cease military activity during the four-day holiday, but reserved the right to react to rebel actions.Brahimi's ceasefire appeal had won widespread international support, including from Russia, China and Iran, President Bashar al-Assad's main foreign allies. The U.N.-Arab League envoy had hoped to build on the truce to calm a 19-month-old conflict that has killed an estimated 32,000 people and worsened instability in the Middle East.Violence appeared to wane in some areas, but truce breaches by both sides swiftly marred Syrians' hopes of celebrating Eid al-Adha, the climax of the Haj pilgrimage to Mecca, in peace."We are not celebrating Eid here," said a woman in a besieged Syrian town near the Turkish border, speaking above the noise of incessant gunfire and shelling. "No one is in the mood to celebrate. Everyone is just glad they are alive."
Her husband, a portly, bearded man in his 50s, said they and their five children had just returned to the town after nine days camped out on a farm with other families to escape clashes."We have no gifts for our children. We can't even make phone calls to our families," he said, a young daughter on his lap.The imam of Mecca's Grand Mosque called on Arabs and Muslims to take "practical and urgent" steps to stop bloodshed in Syria.
"PAINFUL DISASTER"
The Syrian conflict has aggravated divisions in the Islamic world, with Shi'ite Iran supporting Assad and U.S.-allied Sunni nations such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar backing his foes."The world should bear responsibility for this prolonged and painful disaster (in Syria) and the responsibility is greater for the Arabs and Muslims who should call on each other to support the oppressed against the oppressor," Sheikh Saleh Mohammed al-Taleb told worshippers during Eid prayers. For some in Syria, there was no respite from war, but by dusk the death toll was still significantly lower than in recent days, when often between 150 to 200 people have been killed. The heaviest fighting took place around the army base at Wadi al-Daif, near the Damascus-Aleppo highway, which rebels have been trying to seize from the army for two weeks. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said nine soldiers were killed by rebel bombardment of the base, which completely destroyed one building, and four rebel fighters were killed in clashes around Wadi al-Daif.
Four people were killed by tank fire and snipers in Harasta, a town near Damascus, activists said. Gunfire and explosions echoed over Douma, just east of the capital. Rockets killed one person in the besieged Khalidiya district of Homs.Clashes erupted at a checkpoint near the Mahlab army barracks in Aleppo. There was shooting at checkpoints near Tel Kelakh, on the Lebanese border, and clashes in the town itself.
Heavy machinegun fire and mortar explosions were audible along the Turkey-Syrian border near the Syrian town of Haram, a Reuters witness in the Turkish border village of Besaslan said.Rebels in the northern town near the Turkish border said a sniper had killed one of their fighters early on Friday."We don't believe the ceasefire will work," rebel commander Basel Eissa told Reuters. "There's no Eid for us rebels on the front line. The only Eid we can celebrate will be liberation."Assad himself, who has vowed to defeat what he says are Islamist fighters backed by Syria's enemies abroad, was shown on state television attending Eid prayers at a Damascus mosque. The prime minister, information minister and foreign minister, as well as the mufti, Syria's top Muslim official, were filmed praying alongside the 47-year-old president.Assad, smiling and apparently relaxed, shook hands and exchanging Eid greetings with other worshippers afterwards.
MILITARY STALEMATE
Protests against him burst out in March last year, inspired by Arab uprisings elsewhere, but repression by security forces led to an armed insurgency, plunging Syria into a civil war which neither side has proved able to win or willing to end.A commander from the rebel Free Syrian Army had said his fighters would honor the ceasefire but demanded Assad meet opposition demands for the release of thousands of detainees.
Some Islamist militants, including the Nusra Front, rejected the truce. Many groups were skeptical that it would hold."We do not care about this truce. We are cautious. If the tanks are still there and the checkpoints are still there then what is the truce?" asked Abu Moaz, spokesman for Ansar al-Islam, a group whose units fight in and around Damascus. The war in Syria pits mainly Sunni Muslim rebels against Assad, from the minority Alawite sect which is distantly related to Shi'ite Islam. Brahimi has warned that the conflict could suck in Sunni and Shi'ite powers across the Middle East.Brahimi's predecessor, former U.N. chief Kofi Annan, declared a ceasefire in Syria on April 12, but it soon became a dead letter, along with the rest of his six-point peace plan.(Additional reporting by Khaled Yacoub Oweis in Amman and Erika Solomon in northern Syria; Writing by Alistair Lyon; Editing by Myra MacDonald)

Smiles" drug implicated in actor's death: What are they?

(CBS News) Johnny Lewis, the "Sons of Anarchy" actor who allegedly killed his landlady before falling to his death, may have been having mental health problems and using drugs.Sources tell the Los Angeles Times that detectives believe Lewis may have been on a synthetic drug known as 2C-I or "smiles" at the time of his death, according to CBS News Crimesider.Lewis' cause of death is pending toxicology results, the city's Coroner said Thursday evening. Davis died from blunt head trauma and manual strangulation, he said.
"Smiles," or 2C-1, are part of a class of drugs known as phenethylamines. Drugs in the 2C family are "basically just amphetamines," Dr. Lewis S. Nelson, professor of emergency medicine in the division of medical toxicology at NYU Langone School of Medicine in New York City, explained to CBSNews.com.
According to Nelson, the amphetamine molecule contains a ring and a side chain. In the case of methamphetamine or crystal meth for example, amphetamine contains a "methyl" side chain. With 2C compounds, chemists make different substitutions on the rings and add a halogen (think back to a chemistry class periodic table: compounds like chlorine, fluorine, etc.), in this case Iodine.By making these chemical changes, the amphetamine compound gains different effects. While typical amphetamine would cause a "speedy" feeling of high blood pressure, increased heart rate and sweating, the substitutions that make 2C-I create an amphetamine with more euphoric, psychedelic and introspective effects.MDMA or Ectsasy is made similarly, by adding methylenedioxy to an amphetamine backbone."Chemically, they are all very similar drugs," Nelson said. "But by adding the different groups, you change drug's property."The National Institute on Drug Abuse says 2C drugs have been on the illicit drug market since 1998. Because they are amphetamine-based, they are "Schedule I" controlled substances, considered illegal.LiveScience reports "smiles" are often mixed with a substance like chocolate before eating. Side effects include auditory and visual hallucinations, and feelings of giddiness and empathy. The problem, said Nelson, is whoever is making these drugs in an illegal lab has no means of quality control, and the drugs could contain different dosages and properties that cause potentially dangerous side effects. It can contain the expected drug, a different drug or no drug at all, he said.He likens the process of how "smiles" are made to that of another designer drug, "bath salts," which have an amphetamine-like compound but may contain unknown chemicals.
"Substituted amphetamine can produce adverse effects such as heart attacks and strokes, even at low doses," Nelson said. "You ideally want to have a clean, safe high, but often you get very confused, altered and your decision-making is flawed."LiveScience reports "smiles" were implicated in the deaths of two teenagers from East Grand Forks, North Dakota. One 18-year-old was found dead and then the following day, a 17-year-old took 2C-I and began hyperventiliating, hitting his head against the ground and stopped breathing several hours later. Following the deaths, police in the area warned about a possibly tainted batch.

MARK 5:1-20
1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
2  And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
3  Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:(SUPER HUMAN STRENGTH)
4  Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.
5  And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.
6  But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,
7  And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.(THE DEMONS INSIDE THE DEMONIAC KNEW JESUS WAS GOD OF ALL.AND THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN JUDGE DEMONS)
8  For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.
9  And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.(A ROMAN LEGION WAS 5,000 SOLDIERS,SO THERE WAS BETWEEN 2,000 AND 5,000 DEMONS INSIDE THE DEMONIAC)(PLUS SATAN POSSESSED THE DEMANIAC ALSO)
10  And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.
11  Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.
12  And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
13  And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.(SUICIDAL DEMONS)
14  And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.
15  And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
16  And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.
17  And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.
18  And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.
19  Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
20  And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

SHARK FALLS FROM THE SKY ON GOLF COURSE

KING JESUS IS COMING FOR US ANY TIME NOW. THE RAPTURE. BE PREPARED TO GO.

DEAD ANIMALS

HOSEA 4:1-3
1 Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land,(EARTH) because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
2  By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
3  Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.

ZEPHANIAH 1:2-3
2  I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the LORD.
3  I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the LORD.

Shark Falls from Sky Onto Golf Course?

At the San Juan Hills Golf Club in southern California, course hazards include sand traps and falling sharks.
Or they did on Monday (Oct. 22) afternoon, when a 2-foot-long, live leopard shark apparently plummeted from the sky and landed very close to the 12th tee box at the San Juan Capistrano, Calif., course.
The writhing fish out of water was discovered by an on-duty course marshal, who acted fast to save the shark, according to the Capistrano Dispatch. He loaded it onto his golf cart and drove it back to the clubhouse, where other employees joined the cause to save the wayward animal. After briefly placing the shark in a bucket of homemade salt water, cart attendant Bryan Stizer used his break to drive the shark to the Pacific Ocean, about 4 miles (6.5 kilometers) away."I thought he was dead," Stizer told the Dispatch. "When I dropped him into the water, he just lied there for a few seconds, but then he did a twist and shot off into the water."The shark, which reportedly had two bleeding wounds near its dorsal fin, is thought to have been dropped over the golf course by a predatory bird, though no one is known to have actually seen the shark fall.Julianne Steers, chief aquarist at the Ocean Institute near the golf course, told the Dispatch that there are ospreys and peregrine falcons in the area that could have snatched the shark from shallow waters before losing hold of it.Fish falling from the sky is not an unheard-of phenomenon. The downpours of fish and frogs reported throughout history and around the world have been attributed to strong winds that pick up aquatic animals and deposit them many miles inland.

MURDER

JEREMIAH 1:5
5  Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee;(GOD ORDAINED OR LIVES BEFORE WE WERE EVEN CREATED IN A WOMANS BODY)(GOD NEVER CREATED ANYONE HOMOSEXUAL)(AND THIS TELLS US ABORTION IS MURDER) and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

GENESIS 4:8-11 (THE FIRST MURDER)
8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?
10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.
11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;

GENESIS 6:11-13 (EARTH DESTROYED BECAUSE OF TERRORISM,MURDERS)
11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

EXODUS 20:13
13 Thou shalt not kill.(Murder)(THAT INCLUDES ABORTION)

EXODUS 21:12
12 He that smiteth (MURDER)a man,(OR BABY) so that he die, shall be surely put to death.(THATS THE DEATH PENALTY PEOPLE)

ALL I HEAR ON CNN IS THAT THE CONSERVATIVES DON'T WANT WOMEN TO HAVE THEIR OWN RIGHTS.MEANING MURDERING GODS CREATED BABBIES BY ABORTION.AND OBAMA AND THE DEMOCRATS WANT THE WOMEN MURDERING BABBIES BY ABORTION UNDER THE GUISE OF WOMENS RIGHTS.

THE LEFTWINGERS ARE STARTING THEIR DAMAGE IN ISRAEL AS BIBLICAL LAWS ARE GETTING SHREDDED.

Jerusalem's secular Israeli minority showing life

JERUSALEM (AP) — Hundreds of people packed a Jerusalem community center recently for what many in Jerusalem consider a subversive act: They attended a lecture on Saturday, the Jewish Sabbath.
The seemingly harmless event, in which the popular Arab-Israeli journalist Sayed Kashua talked about pluralism and tolerance, broke a long-standing ban on holding activities in public buildings on the Jewish day of rest. That turned Kiryat Yovel, a tranquil neighborhood in west Jerusalem, into the latest battleground in Jerusalem's protracted culture war between Jewish conservatism and pluralism. After years of setbacks, Jerusalem's secular population has begun to push back against what many believe are heavy-handed tactics by the city's ultra-Orthodox residents to impose their religious mores on the general population. A growing number of restaurants now open on Saturday, an array of cultural events have sprouted up, and for the first time in years, a longtime exodus of secular residents for nearby suburbs appears to have halted.
"We're not against the ultra-Orthodox, we're for tolerance and integration and against intimidation. But from no public services offered on Saturdays to promoting gender segregation, the community is undermining the very basis of our democratic state," said Dina Azriel, a leader in the grassroots "Free Kiryat Yovel" initiative, which sponsored the recent lecture. While most Israelis are secular, Israel's founding fathers gave Judaism a formal place in the country's affairs, and Orthodox rabbis strictly govern religious events such as weddings, divorces, and burials for the Jewish population. The ultra-Orthodox are also perennial kingmakers in Israeli coalition politics, though they make up only about 10 percent of the country's population. The influence of the ultra-Orthodox is especially pronounced in Jerusalem, where their numbers are proportionally much larger than the national average. Jerusalem, Israel's largest city, is split almost evenly into thirds between secular and modern Orthodox residents, Muslim Palestinians, and the ultra-Orthodox Jews. Many modern Orthodox Jews live and work with the secular population while maintaining a religious life style, in contrast to ultra-Orthodox, who choose to live in insulated enclaves. The ultra-religious have used their large numbers and political muscle to shape modern Jerusalem. The city grinds to a virtual standstill on the Jewish Sabbath, with businesses closed, public transportation halted and few options for entertainment.Attempts to change this status quo have prompted violent backlashes from the ultra-Orthodox, who haven't hesitated to block roads, clash with police or send tens of thousands of activists into the streets when ordered by their rabbis. In 2009, the city experienced riots when it allowed a parking lot near Jerusalem's Old City to open on the Sabbath to serve out-of-town tourists. In recent years, the ultra-Orthodox have grown bolder, pressuring the local bus company, Egged, to operate gender-segregated lines through religious neighborhoods, attempting to separate men and women on public sidewalks and ripping down billboards with female images on them. Because of the threat of vandalism, Egged recently decided to cease all advertising on its Jerusalem buses by October 2013.Religious coercion could be an issue in January's parliamentary elections. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government, which includes ultra-Orthodox parties, has been criticized as caving in to their demands. In particular, many secular Israelis are upset over the government's failure to end military draft exemptions for the ultra-Orthodox, despite a Supreme Court order. The "Free Kiryat Yovel" movement was formed after ultra-Orthodox activists were allowed to build a kindergarten that maintained a wall to separate religious and non-religious preschoolers. It took four years of petitioning the local community center to win a permit for the Sabbath lecture."We're in a really critical time right now, and I'm not optimistic," said Sarit Hashkes, who runs another secular rights group, called "Be Free Israel.""What we're seeing now is cooperation of state and police officials with the ultra-Orthodox. Women are being pushed aside, and everything is pushed more to the right."The group is behind a number of initiatives, like offering discount cards to patrons to use at restaurants that are open on the Sabbath to increase "secular buying power."
Hashkes said momentum among the secular population is percolating, but not without an equally fierce backlash. While separate sidewalks are officially banned, she said some streets were still off limits to women during the recent Jewish Sukkot holiday.Just last week, a prominent female activist was arrested for wearing a traditionally male prayer shawl at the Western Wall, the holiest place where Jews can pray, an act that police prohibit because of Orthodox Jewish sensitivities.Anat Hoffman said police strip-searched her and jailed her overnight, releasing her only after she agreed to stay away from the site for a month. The incident occurred as she led prayers for 200 American Jewish women from Hadassah, a Jewish women's group that was celebrating its 100th anniversary.Over the years, the growing religious influence, coupled with a high cost of living, has pushed tens of thousands of secular Jerusalemites to leave the city. Navigating a complicated balancing act, Mayor Nir Barkat, a secular, former high-tech businessman, has attempted to revive secular life in the city without alienating the ultra-Orthodox.Barkat's office says the mayor has boosted the city's culture budgets since he was elected in 2008, quadrupling events like concerts and street festivals to enliven the city and encouraged new housing in secular areas to draw young couples and families."Despite a small number of friction points in the city, Jerusalem has seen a dramatic reduction in tension between the Ultra-Orthodox and secular communities in recent years," said spokesman Barak Cohen. In a sign that secular life could be making a comeback, the mayor's office noted that enrollment in secular schools increased in the last school year for the first time in 15 years.Naomi Tsur, a deputy mayor of Jerusalem, noted that for the first time in 15 years, there is a clear non-Orthodox majority in the city council, another sign of secular revival. Modern Orthodox schools also posted slight gains.Whether these trends can continue remains unclear. More than 60 percent of Jewish students attend ultra-Orthodox schools, according to the Jerusalem Institute of Israel Studies.Tsur, an urban planner who has promoted coexistence among Jerusalem's diverse populations, said "a lot will hinge" on whether the secular masses turn their concerns into election issues. "People usually go to vote on 'shall we go to war with Iran,' but we need to work together on making an appealing mix that will attract young and dynamic couples to live in Jerusalem," she said. With parliamentary elections approaching, Kiryat Yovel activist and art historian Daniel Unger thinks these issues will continue to be pushed to the back burner."This is a real issue that Netanyahu and others don't want to address," he says. "Instead, he keeps talking about the Iranian bomb, in hope that his people won't pay attention to the domestic social and economic issues he's ignored."

JAMES 5:1-3
1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

REVELATION 18:10,17,19

17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

EZEKIEL 7:19
19 They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.

REVELATION 13:16-18

Hurricane Sandy makes landfall in Cuba

HOLGUIN, Cuba (AP) — Hurricane Sandy rumbled across mountainous eastern Cuba on Thursday as a Category 2 storm, bringing heavy rains and blistering winds that ripped the roofs off homes and damaged fragile coffee and tomato crops, but caused no known fatalities on the island. Two people died elsewhere in the Caribbean.Even as it pummeled Cuba's rural eastern half, Sandy refused to lose intensity as storms normally do when they cross over land, raising fears that small mountain villages still unheard from might not have been ready for its wrath."It crossed the entire eastern region practically without losing intensity or structure," said Jose Rubiera, the island's chief meteorologist. The U.S. National Hurricane Center said Sandy emerged off Cuba's northeast coast around dawn and was moving north at 18 mph (30 kph), with maximum sustained winds of 105 mph (165 kph). It was expected to remain a hurricane as it moves through the Bahamas.Santiago, Cuba's second largest city near the eastern tip of the island, was spared the worst of the storm, which slammed into the provinces of Granma, Holguin and Las Tunas. Some 5,000 tourists at beach resorts in Holguin were evacuated ahead of the storm, along with 10,200 residents, according to Cuban media. Another 3,000 people in low lying areas of Las Tunas were moved away before Sandy arrived.
State-run media said there was damage to coffee and tomato crops in Granma province but not as bad as had been feared.Residents emerged from their homes early Thursday after a night without power, finding palm trees and some electric poles strewn across roads, blocking traffic.Norje Pupo, a 66-year-old retiree in Holguin, was helping his son clean up early Thursday after an enormous tree toppled over in his garden.
"The hurricane really hit us hard," he said. "As you can see, we were very affected. The houses are not poorly made here, but some may have been damaged."Still, Pupo said residents were used to such storms and would take the damage in stride. Cuba's communist government is known for its rapid response to natural disasters, and people on the Caribbean's largest island have long years of experience with hurricanes.
"We'll move forward," Pupo said. "We'll get out of this hole as we have many other times before."There were no reports of injuries at the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, but there were downed trees and power lines and all non-emergency personnel were still confined to their quarters Thursday after a night of heavy wind and rain, said Kelly Wirfel, a base spokeswoman.Officials canceled a military tribunal session that had been scheduled for Thursday for the prisoner charged in the 2000 attack on the Navy destroyer USS Cole. The hurricane center said that Sandy would likely still be a hurricane as it passes over the Bahamas later in the day. It also might bring tropical storm conditions along the southeastern Florida coast, the Upper Keys and Florida Bay by Friday morning.A tropical storm warning was extended northward as far as Flagler Beach and a tropical storm watch was issued for the northeastern Florida coast.Sandy also may combine with other weather systems to create a major storm over the northeastern U.S. next week, according to federal and private forecasters."It'll be a rough couple days from Hatteras up to Cape Cod," said forecaster Jim Cisco of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration prediction center in College Park, Maryland. "We don't have many modern precedents for what the models are suggesting."
As Sandy crossed over Jamaica on Wednesday an elderly man was killed by a boulder that crashed into his clapboard house, police said. In southwestern Haiti, a woman died in the town of Camp Perrin after she was swept away by a river she was trying to cross, said Marie Alta Jean-Baptiste, head of the country's civil protection office.Jamaican authorities closed the island's international airports and police ordered 48-hour curfews in major towns to keep people off the streets and deter looting. Cruise ships changed their itineraries to avoid the storm, which made landfall Wednesday afternoon near the capital, Kingston. In some southern towns on Jamaica, rushing floodwaters carried crocodiles out of their habitat in mangrove thickets. One big croc took up temporary residence in a family's front yard in the city of Portmore.Stranded business travelers and a smattering of locals rode out the hurricane in hotels clustered along a strip in Kingston's financial district. Some read prayer books or novels, while others watched movies or communicated with loved ones on computers.Far out in the Atlantic, Tropical Storm Tony was weakening and posed no threat to land. The storm had maximum sustained winds of about 45 mph (75 kph) and was moving east-northeast at 23 mph (37 kph). Its center was 835 miles (1,345 kilometers) west-southwest of the Azores.___Associated Press writers Paul Haven, Andrea Rodriguez and Anne-Marie Garcia in Havana, Seth Borenstein in Washington, D.C., David McFadden in Kingston, Jamaica, and Evens Sanon in Port-au-Prince, Haiti contributed to this report.

Real earthquake would cost Israel thousands of lives and NIS 150 billion, minister says

During a week of drills, Home Front units only reached 20% of the practice disaster areas

October 25, 2012, 3:14 pm 2 - THE TIMES OF ISRAEL

At the end of a days-long national earthquake and tsunami exercise, Home Front Defense Minister Avi Dichter said that a real disaster would kill thousands and cost the state NIS 150 billion in recovery operations.Speaking at a meeting of the National Economic Forum on Thursday that convened as part of an exercise, named Turning Point 6, to test the country’s readiness for a natural disaster, Dichter expounded on the potential enormous cost of an earthquake and tsunami.“The cost of the damage to the state and its citizens following an earthquake and a tsunami will be NIS 150-200 billion,” Dichter said. “We are talking about an unprecedented event with thousands killed.”Dichter stressed that it was critical that the financial infrastructure continue to function following a disaster in order to facilitate foreign aid and recovery efforts.
Israel Radio reported that Dichter observed first-hand one of the Home Front Command exercises and said that during the course of the national drill, that began on Sunday, emergency units only managed to reach 20 percent of the staged disaster areas. Dichter warned that in the event of a disaster on a national scale, the state must avoid appearing weak in the eyes of its enemies.

When two become one - the Strasbourg super-session

24.10.12 @ 21:19 By Benjamin Fox
BRUSSELS - Thousands of EU officials will return to Brussels wearier than usual on Friday (26 October) but, on balance, will probably be grateful for a Parliament decision that saved them from another round-trip.
The latest act in the long-running row over the seat of the European Parliament stems from an ingenious idea backed by the assembly in March 2011 – deciding to combine two sessions into one with the result that the second session intended for September 2012 has been merged with the October session. In September the Advocate-General of the European Court of Justice issued a legal opinion to the effect that Parliament's latest attempt to get around the treaty requirement of twelve plenary sessions per year in Strasbourg was clever but illegal. However, in the best tradition of EU compromise, the Luxembourg-based court will only deliver its judgement after the offending session has taken place. We are now halfway through the experiment. The Parliament's website says that the 'first session' this week, on Monday and Tuesday is over, with MEPs having a Tour de France-style 'rest day' before the 'second' session begins on Thursday. The plenary debates and committee meetings have been scheduled to leave Wednesday free for the political group meetings or, for those wishing to grab a much needed bit of rest and relaxation before returning to the Louise Weiss tower, a spot of shopping or a day trip to Germany's Baden-Baden.Even when the ECJ delivers its expected verdict that the Parliament breached the EU treaties, this will not be the end of the matter. The sessions make a valuable contribution to Strasbourg's economy and the city's combative mayor, the socialist Roland Ries, will be anxious to recoup some of the lost revenue.Meanwhile, the momentum amongst MEPs for changing the continues to build. During Tuesday's vote on the 2014-2020 EU budgetary framework, MEPs voted by 615 to 64 in favour of a change to the treaties to allow them to choose a single seat.More ingenious plans to reduce the number of Strasbourg sessions have also been mooted. Among the best are the idea of re-naming the plenary chamber in Brussels “Strasbourg” or allowing debates and roll-call votes to be done by video-link from Brussels. As yet, though, nobody has seriously suggested that MEPs vote with their feet and boycott the sessions.Edward McMillan, a Liberal Vice-President who has spear-headed the 'One seat' campaign, said that MEPs wanted to “turn the corner on the anachronistic arrangement which keeps us away from the political capital of Europe – Brussels – for one week a month. However, the vote also reveals the frustrating impotence of the Parliament's position. MEPs often gripe that they are blamed for the public-relations disaster that are the monthly Strasbourg sessions but have no power to bring the practice to a halt. It is a bizarre reality that the European Parliament has sweeping legislative powers, that are at least the equal of any legislature barring the US Congress, but does not have the right to decide where they meet. The total cost of the twelve Strasbourg sessions is estimated between €170m-€200m per year, more than 10 percent of the Parliament's entire annual budget. This includes €40 million in extra staff costs for salaries for the Strasbourg-based staff and mission expenses for the several thousand officials who are required to make the monthly trek to the Alsace. This may sound like a classic case of officials enjoying the high life. In reality, if you don't have an advance block booking, it is almost impossible to find a hotel room in the city for less than €150, with many Strasbourg hoteliers jacking up their prices in anticipation of the flood of eurocrats, lobbyists and journalists.Meanwhile, a further €10 million is spent each year on security and maintenance of the buildings which are valued at around €600 million. At a time when the EU institutions are under pressure from member states to make deep cuts to their administrative costs, scrapping the sessions would be a relatively painless money-saving measure. It is certainly unlikely to provoke an angry response from EU officials fearing that member states' desire for belt-tightening will hit their pay-packets and pensions.
A survey by the 'One Seat' campaign claimed that the monthly trek to Strasbourg causes an additional 19,000 tonnes of carbon emissions each year. But the single seat talk is not all one way traffic. Strasbourg's socialist mayor, Roland Ries, responded to Parliament's vote by getting the French Senate to adopt a resolution calling for all Parliament business to take place in Strasbourg. There are also a small but significant minority of MEPs who believe that Strasbourg should be the Parliament's single seat. Ries says that a single Strasbourg seat would create a 'polycentric' institutional set-up with the executive (Commission) in Brussels, the judiciary (ECJ) in Luxembourg, and the legislature in Strasbourg.Logistically and practically it is a non-starter – only a handful of EU capitals have direct flights to Strasbourg which is notoriously inaccessible, with MEPs from eastern and south eastern member states facing a full day's travelling to get to and from theAlsace. Meanwhile, the offices for MEPs and officials are barely larger than broom-cupboards.
In any case, a 'polycentric' set-up would surely be a recipe for monumental inefficiency and more travelling miles. The EU's legislative work is dependent on easy and regular access to the Commission and Council and it is hard to see how this would not be diminished by stationing MEPs in a city more than 500 kilometres and a 4 hour car or train journey away.At the end of this latest act of the Strasbourg saga, nearly €20 million of public money will be saved and the Parliament's lawyers will have had some fun. But normal service will be resumed in November and the October 'super-session' is likely to be a one-off novelty. Moreover, with France and Luxembourg still adamant that Parliament retains a presence in their countries, the prospect of a treaty change delivering a single seat remains slim. More tarte flambés, anyone?

MEPs lukewarm on commission's 2013 work programme

Today @ 10:42 OCT 25,12 By Benjamin Fox
Announcing the programme during a debate with MEPs, administration commissioner Maros Sefcovic said the programme is aimed at "how the EU can best contribute to what is our most pressing priority: reviving growth and jobs."He added that: "2013 will be a decisive year for turning Europe around to face up to the crisis."The programme features around 50 new files to be tabled in the last 18 months of the legislative term. In the financial field, these will include legislation on shadow banking and on the data used to calculate Libor, which works out the inter-bank interest rate.In December the commission is expected to table plans for a Youth Employment Guarantee Scheme with young people hardest hit by the financial crisis and recession. It also intends to make proposals to establish a European Employment Guarantee and a formal network of European Public Employment Services. However, there was no place for legislation on tobacco advertising, the draft bill at the heart of last week's departure health commissioner John Dalli over allegations that an associate of his had demanded a €60 million bribe for changing the legislation.Internal market committee chair, UK conservative Malcolm Harbour, complained that the text is "not the commission's work programme at all. This is a list of new initiatives."While offering the programme qualified support, Harbour accused the EU executive of failing to propose improvements to the quality of legislative drafting as well as qualitative impact assessments.Critics say the commission uses it as an opportunity to re-jig already existing policy initiatives.Liberal MEP, Andrew Duff said: "It is of course splendid that we are having more plans for lawmaking in the single market area, but we have to appreciate that the present package of single market law is far from complete."The 2013 work programme will be the last chance for the commission to drive forward new legislation ahead of the 2014 European elections. With Parliament formally dissolved over a month before the June election, the opening months of 2014 will see the EU institutions battle to get new laws on the statute. Files that have not been adopted by Parliament's dissolution are scrapped, with the emphasis on the Commission to re-table the texts.

EU-Israel drugs pact contains legal pitfall

24.10.12 @ 21:14 By Andrew Rettman
BRUSSELS - MEPs have rubber-stamped a trade deal with Israel despite a warning by their own legal services that it might clash with EU law.The European Parliament in Strasbourg on Tuesday (23 October) passed the so-called Acaa (Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products) pact by 379 votes against 230 with 40 abstentions.Under the deal, most drugs certified by EU or Israeli authorities can be sold in both territories without getting new permission from the other side.Israel is a big exporter of medicines, such as Copaxone, a multiple sclerosis drug, and Lipitor, a blood pressure pill. The fact some of them are produced on occupied Palestinian land is not a problem for Acaa.Whether the drug is made in Israel, China or the US, Israeli officials can go and inspect the producer and approve the drug without implying any extension of Israeli sovereignty. The legal description of the Israeli body which certifies drugs for Acaa purposes could be a stumbling block, however.EU parliament lawyers spelled out their views in a 10-page analysis dated 16 March this year. They said that if Israel's Acaa regulator - most likely its health ministry - is described as having jurisdiction over occupied land then the EU cannot recognise it and cannot implement the trade deal.Israel could say its Acaa regulator is only valid for Israel proper. "If Israel nominates the responsible authority ... to be competent in the whole of Israel, which in Israel's definition of territory includes territories which came under Israeli administration in 1967, then the commission is not in a position to acknowledge that nomination, but may request that the nomination clearly limits the competence of the nominated responsible authority so as not to cover those territories," the parliament lawyers noted.
But this would amount to political suicide for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.EUobserver on Wednesday asked the commission if the parliament lawyers have a point. Its experts said Israel can certify drugs no matter where they are made but they said nothing on how to designate the Israeli regulator.
When asked again, trade spokesman John Clancy said: "I really don't see the confusion ... This issue was discussed in detail with the European Parliament. The latter accepted this approach by giving its consent to Acaa."For Charles Shamas, a campaigner at the Brussels and Ramallah-based NGO the Mattin Group, and for Franziska Brantner, a German Green MEP, the commission response is no surprise."They have been trying to avoid answering this question for the past six months in the hope they can fudge the agreement in some way," Shamas said."Unless somebody takes them to [the EU's] court in Luxembourg, they will probably manage it," Brantner added. The Green, Socialist, Liberal and far-left GUE groups in parliament had tabled a declaration to be attached to Acaa on the regulator issue. But it fell by the wayside because the centre-right EPP group did not like it and the Liberal and Socialist groups started bickering over Acaa in general. The legal problem also got buried by debate on Acaa political symbolism. In a week in which Israel opted to build another 797 settler units, left-leaning MEPs said Acaa amounts to EU appeasement. Meanwhile, centre-right MEPs and pro-Israeli lobbyists, such as the American Jewish Committee, said Acaa is about "saving lives.""The opposition [to Acaa] is based on political signals - do we do another thing with Israel or not? A lot of people [MEPs] don't understand the legal issues," Shamas said.

EZEKIEL 12:25
25  For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord GOD.

EZEKIEL 5:17
17  So will I send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave thee; and pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee. I the LORD have spoken it.

EZEKIEL 38:1-12
1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog,(RULER) the land of Magog,(RUSSIA) the chief prince of Meshech(MOSCOW)and Tubal,(TOBOLSK) and prophesy against him,
3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog,(LEADER OF RUSSIA) the chief prince of Meshech(MOSCOW) and Tubal:TOBOLSK)
4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws,(GOD FORCES THE RUSSIA-MUSLIMS TO MARCH) and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:
5 Persia,(IRAN,IRAQ) Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:
6 Gomer,(GERMANY) and all his bands; the house of Togarmah (TURKEY)of the north quarters, and all his bands:(SUDAN,AFRICA) and many people with thee.
7 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.
8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.(RUSSIA-EGYPT AND MUSLIMS)
10 Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:
11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.

EZEKIEL 39:1-8,11-18
1 Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog,(LEADER OF RUSSIA) and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech (MOSCOW) and Tubal: (TUBOLSK)
2 And I will turn thee back,(RUSSIA-ARAB MUSLIM ISRAEL HATERS) and leave but the sixth part of thee,(5/6TH OR 300 MILLION DEAD I BELIEVE) and will cause thee to come up from the north parts,(RUSSIA) and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:
3 And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
4 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands,( ARABS) and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
5 Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
6 And I will send a fire on Magog,(NUCLEAR BOMB) and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
7 So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
8 Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken.
11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog (RUSSIA/ARAB/MUSLIMS) a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers (EAST OF THE DEAD SEA IN JORDAN VALLEY) on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog (RUSSIAN) and all his multitude:(ARAB/MUSLIM HORDE) and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog.(BURIEL SITE OF THE 300 MILLION,RUSSIAN/ARAB/MUSLIMS)
12 And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land.(OF ISRAEL)
13 Yea, all the people of the land (OF ISRAEL) shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I (GOD-JESUS) shall be glorified, saith the Lord GOD.
14 And they shall sever out men of continual employment,(NUCLEAR BOMB EXPERTS) passing through the land to bury with the passengers those that remain upon the face of the earth, to cleanse it: after the end of seven months shall they search.
15 And the passengers that pass through the land, when any seeth a man’s bone, then shall he set up a sign by it,(WON'T TOUCH IT) till the buriers have buried it (PROPERLY) in the valley of Hamongog.(RUSSIA/ARAB/MUSLIMS NEW BURIEL SITE)
16 And also the name of the city shall be Hamonah. Thus shall they cleanse the land.(OF THE ISRAEL-GOD HATERS)
17 And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl,(500 MILLION MIGRATING BIRDS THREW ISRAEL EVERY SPRING,FALL) and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.(OF THE RUSSIAN/ARAB/MUSLIM ARMIES)
18 Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan.
19 And ye (MIGRATING BIRDS IN ISRAEL) shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.(RUSSIAN/ARAB/MUSLIM ISRAEL HATERS)
20 Thus ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord GOD.
21 And I (GOD-JESUS) will set my glory among the heathen,(WORLD NATIONS) and all the heathen (WORLD NATIONS) shall see my judgment that I have executed,(AGAINST ISRAELS ENEMIES) and my (GODS) hand that I have laid upon them.(ISRAELS HATER ENEMIES)

Mortar shell explodes in Eshkol region, breaking fragile truce

No injuries reported; security forces searching for precise landing point to determine who is behind the fire

October 25, 2012, 10:11 am 3 - THE TIMES OF ISRAEL

A single mortar shell fell in an unpopulated area in the Eshkol region Thursday morning. The mortar, fired by terrorists from the Gaza Strip, caused no damage or injuries, but broke the relative calm of the previous few hours. The explosion was the first to be heard in the area following roughly 10 hours of calm, a day after Gaza-based terror groups fired more than 80 missiles at communities in the south of Israel, injuring five people and causing damage to eight houses. The calm was a result of an Egyptian-mediated ceasefire that went into effect at midnight. The truce, believed to have been negotiated by Egyptian intelligence officer Maj. Gen. Nader al-Aasr, stipulated that the IDF would halt its retaliatory strikes into the Gaza Strip if Hamas prevented rockets from being fired into Israel. But Amos Gilad, a top aide to Defense Minister Ehud Barak, denied Thursday morning that Israel had reached an agreement with Hamas.“There is no ceasefire agreement. There never was and never will be an agreement with Hamas. It is a murderous organization. The only thing that was settled was that there would be an effort to bring about calm,” Gilad said in an interview to Army Radio.Egyptian security forces have “a very impressive ability” to convey to the militants that it is in their “supreme interest not to attack,” he said.“We are in regular contact with the Egyptians, but they don’t need us to forge deals,” said Gilad. “Egypt sees terrorism as a serious threat. Al-Qaeda killed Egyptian soldiers. Terror is our common enemy.”A Palestinian official told reporters Wednesday that Hamas had promised Cairo to calm the situation down and Israel said it would refrain from attacks unless it was subject to rocket fire. However, on Thursday morning Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoun said that rocket fire at Israeli communities was a “natural response to the crimes of the occupation” and announced that armed forces in Gaza would react “with more strength” in the future.A security official told Channel 10 news Wednesday evening that the IDF preferred quiet to a ramping-up of tensions.“Military action would likely ignite the region, which is a matter that will require a prolonged military operation with casualties,” the official said.Sources in the Israeli government reported that the Hamas leadership forwarded messages to Jerusalem through Egyptian intermediaries requesting a ceasefire, Israel Radio reported Wednesday night. The sources in Jerusalem believed that Hamas lacked the will to be dragged into a prolonged conflict with Israel, and that Israel inflicted serious damage to the group in airstrikes in the past day.“An Egyptian-mediated truce is something that repeats itself because of their interest in regional tranquility,” the security source told Channel 10.“Hamas and the [Islamist] factions [in the Gaza Strip] are interested in silence, according to our assessments, on account of Eid al-Adha in the coming days. A mutual interest has been created in which both we and they are interested in quiet,” the source said, referring to the major Muslim holiday.Israeli leaders on Wednesday threatened an extensive military response if rocket fire continued. Defense Minister Ehud Barak said that a ground incursion was a possibility, though not a preferable one.Israel’s UN ambassador, Ron Prosor, wrote to the UN Security Council warning members that if they don’t condemn the rocket attacks, “there could be tragic consequences” because Hamas and other militants will interpret the silence “as a green light for terror and provocation.”

Israel says 79 rockets fired at it from Gaza

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Palestinians fired dozens of rockets into Israel from Gaza on Wednesday and an Israeli air strike killed a militant, a day after the Emir of Qatar made a rare visit to the enclave's Hamas leadership.Hamas claimed responsibility for some of the rocket and mortar bomb attacks, prompting some Israelis to wonder whether it had been emboldened by the Qatari visit on Tuesday that broke the Islamist group's diplomatic isolation. In recent months, Hamas has largely held its fire when other militant factions have launched cross-border rocket attacks, but the sudden upsurge in violence stoked fears that the hostilities could escalate further.Hamas accused Israel of stepping up air strikes in the Gaza Strip, a move it said was meant to convey Israeli anger over Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani's visit, and pledged to "continue to hold a gun ... until Palestine is liberated".Israel said it was "astounding" that Qatar, a U.S.-allied Gulf state, would take sides in the Palestinian dispute and endorse Hamas, branded by the West as a terrorist group. Hamas seized the Gaza Strip in 2007 from fighters loyal to the Fatah faction of Western-backed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Some analysts saw the Qatari ruler's trip, the first by any national leader to Gaza since Hamas took over, as an attempt to build bridges between the group and the West and coax it into the peace camp amid Arab turmoil across the Middle East.
A Palestinian official said Egypt was trying to mediate a truce."The contacts Cairo made resulted in a verbal promise by Hamas to calm the situation down and Israel said it was monitoring calm on the ground and would refrain from attacks unless it was subject to rocket fire from Gaza," said the official, who is close to the talks.Israeli officials had no immediate comment. Previous rounds of cross-border attacks have usually fizzled out in days, with both Israel and Hamas seemingly aware of the risks of ramping up the low-intensity conflict.Israel's three-week-long invasion of the Gaza Strip, launched in 2008 with the declared aim of curbing rocket launches, drew international criticism over a heavy Palestinian casualty toll.Though hostile to Israel, Hamas has mostly sought to avoid direct clashes as it shores up its rule in the face of more radical challengers and seeks potential allies abroad.
NETANYAHU VISITS ANTI-MISSILE SITE
In a second day of violence, a Hamas militant was killed on Wednesday in an air strike, which Israel said was intended to stop rocket launches. On Tuesday, Israel killed three Hamas men, saying they had either launched attacks or were about to do so.In southern Israel, three agricultural workers were wounded when a Palestinian rocket exploded near them.An Israeli military spokeswoman, said 79 projectiles had been fired at Israel and that the Iron Dome system had intercepted eight of them. She said several homes had been damaged by Palestinian rockets.Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is seeking a renewed mandate in Israel's January 22 election, visited an Iron Dome anti-missile battery near the southern city of Ashkelon on Wednesday and threatened stronger Israeli military action in Gaza."We did not choose this escalation, nor did we initiate it, but if it continues, we are prepared for a much wider and deeper operation," he said, pledging to press on with "targeted attacks" against militants preparing to fire rockets.Israel kept schools shut in communities near the fenced Gaza boundary and residents were urged to remain indoors.Hamas has refused to renounce violence or recognize Israel's right to exist, and is ostracized by the Quartet of Middle East mediators comprising the United States, United Nations, European Union and Russia. However, Hamas has said it would accept a truce with Israel in return for a state in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip.

US Sudan embassy closed shortly after munitions factory explosion’

Hundreds chant ‘death to Israel’ in Khartoum; Sudanese minister says his country has the right to respond

October 25, 2012, 2:58 pm 5- THE TIMES OF ISRAEL
The US embassy to Sudan was reportedly closed on Wednesday, shortly after an explosion at a weapons facility south of the capital Khartoum.Al-Hayat reported on Thursday that the embassy, which stopped providing services in September after being attacked by rioters protesting the anti-Islamic film “Innocence of Muslims,” was completely closed following the alleged bombing, which was blamed by the Sudanese government on Israel. The article quoted Sudanese sources, who said that the US knew Israel was behind the attack and closed its embassy, fearing retaliation for the alleged bombing. On Wednesday night, hundreds of people gathered in the Sudanese capital holding anti-Israel signs after Khartoum said Jerusalem had been behind the attack, which killed two people. Some 300 demonstrators rallying against Israel chanted slogans, including “Death to Israel” and “Remove Israel from the map,” according to a report in the Iranian Press TV.
Minister of Information Ahmed Belal Osman told reporters on Wednesday that four aircraft hit the Yarmouk Complex, setting off a huge blast that rocked the capital before dawn.“Four planes coming from the east bombed the Yarmouk industrial complex,” Belal said. “They used sophisticated technology.” He didn’t elaborate further.Belal also referred to a 2009 attack on an arms convoy that killed dozens in the Red Sea province in the east of the country. The government then blamed the attack on Israel, which believes Sudan is a conduit for arms shipments through Egypt to Gaza’s militant Hamas rulers. Israel does not comment officially on the issue.Belal said the complex produces conventional weapons. He said his country has the right to respond. In a letter to the UN Security Council, Sudan’s representative called the attack a “blatant violation” of the UN charter and called for condemnation from the world body.Belal also said a technical team is inspecting remains of the missiles used in the attack which he said suggest Israel is behind the bombing. He didn’t provide any evidence.Israeli officials neither confirmed or denied Israel’s involvement.
At the same news conference, military spokesman Sawarmy Khaled said two people were killed and another was seriously injured in the blast. Earlier, officials said some people suffered from smoke inhalation.
In New York, Sudan’s UN Ambassador Daffa-Alla Elhag Ali Osman called on the UN Security Council to condemn the attack, accusing Israel of meddling in its internal affairs and providing support to rebel groups.
The Cairo-based Arab League said it is closely following the fallout from the attack. Deputy Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed bin Helli said Sudanese officials are in touch with the League and have provided initial reports about Israel’s alleged involvement. “We are working to verify them,” he said.Sudanese activists on social media websites criticized the government for placing a factory with such large quantities of ammunition in a residential area.Sudan has been engaged in various armed conflicts for many years.
Sudan’s government has been at war with rebels in the western region of Darfur and with its neighbors in South Sudan, which broke away to become Africa’s newest country in 2011. Sudan’s president, Omar al-Bashir, has been indicted by the International Criminal Court on charges of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity.Sudan was a major hub for al-Qaeda militants and remains a transit for weapon smugglers and African migrant traffickers. The US imposed economic, trade and financial sanctions against Sudan in 1997, citing the Sudanese government’s support for terrorism, including its sheltering of al-Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden in Khartoum the mid-1990s.In 1998, American cruise missiles bombed a Khartoum pharmaceutical factory suspected of links to al-Qaeda. That followed the terror group’s bombings of US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania that killed 224 people. The Yarmouk weapons complex was built in the 1996. Sudan prided itself in having a way to produce its own ammunition and weapons despite international sanctions.Yarmouk is one of two known state-owned weapons manufacturing facilities in the Sudanese capital.Jonah Leff of the Geneva-based Small Arms Survey told The Associated Press that the location of the two factories is “certainly a hazard” to Khartoum’s population if the weapons inside are not properly maintained or secured.A September report from the Small Arms Survey said there was evidence from weapons packaging found in Darfur and in South Kordofan that arms and ammunition from China are exported to Yarmouk and then transported to the two embattled regions.Leff said that although the Small Arms Survey has documented Sudanese military stocks of Iranian weapons and ammunition, there is no evidence that Iranian weapons are being assembled or manufactured in the two Khartoum factories.

Netanyahu: Nothing to Say about Sudan Explosion OCT 25,12 - INN

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said, Thursday, that Israel had nothing to say about the Wednesday-evening explosion at a weapons factory in Sudan.During a news conference with Prime Minister Mario Monti of Italy, a reporter asked him if Israel denied Sudan's accusations that Israel was behind the blast.

Israeli Official: Sudan is a 'Terrorist State'

A top Israeli defense official said that Sudan was a terrorist state, and that its accusations against Israel could not be taken seriously.By David Lev First Publish: 10/25/2012, 11:02 AM

Israel hit back at Sudan Thursday, after Khartoum on Wednesday accused Israel of attacking a military installation in the country. A top Israeli defense official told Army Radio that Sudan was a terrorist state, and that its accusations that Israel engaged in terrorism against that country could not be taken seriously.
“Sudan is a dangerous terrorist state. To know exactly what happened (there), it will take some time to understand," said Amos Gilad, director of policy and political-military affairs at the Defense Ministry. "There are different versions of the Sudanese side, so there is no reason to go into details," Gilad responded to questions of Israeli involvement in the attack.Sudan says it has evidence that Israeli warplanes carried out the attack, although it has so far failed to present that evidence. Sudan claimed that four Israeli aircraft fired missiles that hit a military factory and killed two people in Khartoum. The explosion at the military factory in Sudan's capital before dawn Wednesday sent detonating ammunition flying through the air, causing panic among residents, the official news agency and local media reports said. Sudan has demanded that the UN Security Council condemn Israel for the raid. A Sudanese official, Bilal Osman, said that a response by Sudan for the attack would be forthcoming, although “we reserve the right to react at a place and time we choose."Israeli officials have long been following the situation in Sudan, which security officials said was a major source of weapons for Gaza Arab terrorists. Gangs of terrorists trained and set up areas of influence in the remote parts of the country, with large weapons warehouses. According to security officials, Sudan is a major hub on the route of smugglers moving weapons from Iran and Syria to terror groups in Gaza, Lebanon, and elsewhere. Several months ago, a car carrying several weapons smugglers and a large amount of weapons exploded at Port Sudan. Sudan accused Israel of involvement in that attack as well.
Meanwhile, a report in Arab media Thursday said that the U.S. had closed its embassy in Khartoum, Sudan's capital, on Tuesday – just before the attack took place, as if the U.S. had advanced knowledge of the attack. Hundreds of Sudanese gathered outside the U.S. Embassy in Khartoum calling for “death to Israel” and “death to America,” as they burned American and Israeli flags.

Fighting rages in Syria before Brahimi's truce

AMMAN (Reuters) - Syrian troops bombarded a town near Damascus on Thursday and fighting raged in and around the northern city of Aleppo, a day before a proposed truce for a four-day Muslim religious holiday.President Bashar al-Assad's government was expected to make a statement later in the day on whether it accepts the temporary ceasefire advocated by U.N.-Arab League envoy Lakhdar Brahimi.
The Syrian authorities said on Wednesday they were still studying the plan, but Russia's envoy to the United Nations said Damascus had indicated to Moscow that it would agree to it.China urged all sides to respect a ceasefire, an idea also backed by Syria's main regional ally Iran, but there was no sign on the ground of any let-up in the violence on the eve of Eid al-Adha, the biggest feast on the Muslim religious calendar.
Syrian troops pounded Harasta, near Damascus, with tank and rocket fire, killing five people, after rebels overran two army roadblocks on the edge of the town, on the main highway from the capital to the north, opposition campaigners said.Rebels tried to maintain pressure on two army bases on main roads leading to the contested city of Aleppo, a key prize in the 19-month-old uprising against Assad's authoritarian rule.
"No one is taking the ceasefire seriously," said Moaz al-Shami, an opposition activist in Damascus."How can there be a ceasefire with tanks roaming the streets, roadblocks every few hundred meters and the army having no qualms about hitting civilian neighborhoods with heavy artillery? This is a regime that has lost all credibility."Even if Assad accepts a truce, there may be no unified response from Syria's fractured opposition. Some armed groups have said they will abide by a ceasefire. Others, including the Islamist militant Al Nusra Front, have rejected it.In Aleppo, where opposition activists reported more fighting and shelling, the rebel Shining Aleppo Division said it would observe the ceasefire despite "doubts over the credibility of the regime" if Assad stopped moving armored units, halted air raids and released thousands of prisoners held without trial.
WAR CRIMES
Brahimi's predecessor, former U.N. chief Kofi Annan, declared a ceasefire in Syria on April 12, but it soon became a dead letter, along with the rest of his six-point peace plan.Violence has intensified since then, with daily death tolls compiled by opposition monitoring groups often exceeding 200."Harasta is being pummeled by tanks and rocket launchers deployed on the highway. The rebels are putting up a fight and it does not seem the army will be able to enter the town this time," said a Damascus resident, who gave his name as Mohammed.Assad's force pushed into Harasta a month ago in an operation which opposition activists said killed 70 people. In Geneva, U.N. war crimes investigators said they had asked to meet Assad to seek access for their team, which has been excluded from Syria since it began work a year ago. There was no word on how the Syrian leader would respond. The inquiry led by Brazilian expert Paulo Pinheiro has been investigating atrocities by both sides in the conflictIn their latest report in August, the investigators said that Syrian government forces and allied militia had committed war crimes including murder and torture of civilians in what appeared to be a state-directed policy. In Harasta, an opposition group described the town as a "disaster zone" after the shelling. "An (army) roadblock had been set up next to the main bakery. There is no water, no food, no medicine and prolonged power cuts," it said in a statement.Activists also reported army artillery on the town of Anadan northwest of Aleppo. To the southwest of the city, rebels have been surrounding army barracks at the town of Orum al-Sughra, on the road between Aleppo and the Turkish border.Assad's forces appear to have curbed a two-week-old rebel offensive against an army base at Wadi al-Deif to the south, near Maarat al-Numaan on the Aleppo-Damascus highway.Rebel commanders said an armored column sent to defend the base 10 days ago had arrived near Maarat al-Numaan despite rebel attacks. The column, now deployed just south for the town, is bombarding rebel forces operating near Wadi al-Deif.(Editing by Alistair Lyon)

POISONED WATERS

REVELATION 8:8-11
8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood:(bitter,Poisoned) and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.(poisoned)

REVELATION 16:3-7
3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.(enviromentalists won't like this result)
4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.
5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.
6 For they(False World Church and Dictator) have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

AP Interview: Japan nuke plant water worries rise

TOKYO (AP) — Japan's crippled nuclear power plant is struggling to find space to store tens of thousands of tons of highly contaminated water used to cool the broken reactors, the manager of the water treatment team said.About 200,000 tons of radioactive water — enough to fill more than 50 Olympic-sized swimming pools — are being stored in hundreds of gigantic tanks built around the Fukushima Dai-ichi plant. Operator Tokyo Electric Power Co. has already chopped down trees to make room for more tanks and predicts the volume of water will more than triple within three years."It's a pressing issue because our land is limited and we would eventually run out of storage space," the water-treatment manager, Yuichi Okamura, told The Associated Press in an exclusive interview this week.TEPCO is close to running a new treatment system that could make the water safe enough to release into the ocean. But in the meantime its tanks are filling up — mostly because leaks in reactor facilities are allowing ground water pour in.Outside experts worry that if contaminated water is released, there will be lasting impact on the environment. And they fear that because of the reactor leaks and water flowing from one part of the plant to another, that may already be happening.
Nuclear engineer and college lecturer Masashi Goto said the contaminated water buildup poses a long-term health and environmental threat. He worries that the radioactive water in the basements may already be getting into the underground water system, where it could reach far beyond the plant, possibly the ocean or public water supplies."You never know where it's leaking out and once it's out you can never put it back in place," he said. "It's just outrageous and shows how big a disaster the accident is."The concerns are less severe than the nightmare scenario TEPCO faced in the weeks after the March 11, 2011, earthquake and tsunami knocked out power and cooling systems at the plant, leading to explosions and meltdowns of three reactor cores in the world's worst nuclear disaster since Chernobyl. The plant released radiation into the surrounding air, soil and ocean and displaced more than 100,000 residents who are uncertain when — or if — they will be able to return to their homes.Dumping massive amounts of water into the melting reactors was the only way to avoid an even bigger catastrophe.Okamura remembers frantically trying to find a way to get water to spent fuel pools located on the highest floor of the 50-meter-high reactor buildings. Without water, the spent fuel likely would have overheated and melted, sending radioactive smoke for miles and affecting possibly millions of people."The water would keep evaporating, and the pools would have dried up if we had left them alone," he said. "That would have been the end of it."Attempts to dump water from helicopters were ineffective. Spraying water from fire trucks into the pools didn't work either. Okamura then helped bring in a huge, German-made concrete-making pump with a remote-controlled arm that was long enough to spray water into the fuel pools. The plan worked — just in time, Okamura said. Those measures and others helped bring the plant under tenuous control, but it will take decades to clean up the radioactive material. And those desperate steps created another huge headache for the utility: What to do with all that radioactive water that leaked out of the damaged reactors and collected in the basements of reactor buildings and nearby facilities. Some of the water ran into the ocean, raising concerns about contamination of marine life and seafood. Waters within a 20-kilometer (12-mile) zone are still off-limits, and high levels of contamination have been found in seabed sediment and fish tested in the area.Okamura was tasked with setting up a treatment system that would make the water clean enough for reuse as a coolant, and was also aimed at reducing health risks for workers and environmental damage. At first, the utility shunted the tainted water into existing storage tanks near the reactors. Meanwhile, Okamura's 55-member team scrambled to get a treatment unit up and running within three months of the accident — a project that would normally take about two years, he said."Accomplishing that was a miracle," he said, adding that a cheer went up from his men when the first unit started working.Using that equipment, TEPCO was able to circulate reprocessed water back into the reactor cores. But even though the reactors now are being cooled exclusively with recycled water, the volume of contaminated water is still increasing, mostly because ground water is seeping through cracks into the reactor and turbine basements.Next month, Okamura's group plans to flip the switch on new purifying equipment using Toshiba Corp. technology that is supposedly able to decontaminate the water by removing strontium and other nuclides, potentially below detectable levels, he said.TEPCO claims the treated water from this new system is clean enough to be potentially released into the ocean, although it hasn't said whether it would do that. Doing so would require the permission of authorities and local consent and would also likely trigger harsh criticism at home and abroad. To deal with the excess tainted water, the utility has channeled it to more than 300 huge storage tanks placed around the plant. The utility has plans to install storage tanks for up to 700,000 tons — or about three more years' worth — of contaminated water. If that maxes out, it could build additional space for roughly two more years' worth of storage, said Mayumi Yoshida, a company spokeswoman. But those forecasts hinge on plans to detect and plug holes in the damaged reactors to minimize leaks over the next two years. The utility also plans to take steps to keep ground water from seeping into the reactor basements. Both are tasks that TEPCO is still not sure how to accomplish: Those areas remain so highly radioactive that it is unclear how humans or even robots could work there. There's also a risk the storage tanks and the jury-rigged pipe system connecting them could be damaged if the area is struck by another earthquake or tsunami.Goto, the nuclear engineer, believes it will take far longer than TEPCO's goal of two years to repair all the holes in the reactors. The plant also would have to deal with contaminated water until all the melted fuel and other debris is removed from the reactor — a process that will easily take more than a decade. He said TEPCO's roadmap for dealing with the problem is "wishful thinking.""The longer it takes, the more contaminated water they get," he said.___Associated Press Writer Malcolm Foster contributed to this report.
