Hamas: End the Blockade or There Will be Another War-Hamas deputy leader says the group does not want another war with Israel, but says fighting is inevitable if blockade on Gaza isn't lifted.By Ben Ariel-First Publish: 9/19/2014, 12:15 AM-ISRAELNATIONALNEWS

Hamas deputy leader Mousa Abu Marzouq said Thursday the group does not want another war with Israel, but warned more fighting is inevitable unless the blockade on Gaza is lifted. The comments were made in an interview Abu Marzouq gave to The Associated Press (AP).In the interview, Abu Marzouq insisted that Hamas won the war, despite the apparent military setbacks. He said his group's popularity among Palestinian Arabs has increased and that it would likely defeat Abbas and his Fatah movement if elections were held today. He warned that failure to negotiate a new Gaza deal and a lifting of the blockade would "lead to another war.""We don't want that, and the Israelis, I guess, don't like to see that (war) again," he told AP, adding that the people of Gaza lived in a difficult situation before the war as a result of the blockade."We can't put the Palestinians after the war in the same situation," said Abu Marzouq. "They (the Israelis) have to change their policy."Hamas and Israel agreed to resume Egyptian-brokered negotiations within a month of a long-term ceasefire which began on August 26. The talks are to discuss key issues, including Hamas's unprecedented demand for a port and an airport and for terrorist releases, as well as Israel's demands for the area's demilitarization.Abu Marzouq said on Wednesday that the indirect ceasefire negotiations will restart within the next week.He added that while the exact date had not yet been set, "it would definitely be before the 24th of the current month."Israel’s demand for demilitarization has been flatly rejected, with Hamas spokesperson Sami Abu Zuhri saying that "our people will not allow it. It is not required to disarm the Palestinian people, but rather to disarm the (Israeli) occupation and to ban the American administration from providing it with the weapons that are used to kill children and women."Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon has rejected Hamas’s seaport and airport demand, saying that "there is no chance that Hamas will receive a seaport - it is not in Israel's interest, it is not an Egyptian interest, it's not even in the interest of the Palestinian Authority."

Southern Residents Flee Amid Fears of Hamas Rosh Hashana Attack-Renewed mortar fire and renewed terror tunnel building means many Jews near Gaza will leave for holidays - and may never return.By Ari Yashar-First Publish: 9/17/2014, 11:24 AM-ISRAELNATIONALNEWS

The Jewish High Holidays are fast approaching, but for many residents of the Gaza Belt in the south this Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashana) will be spent away from home due to the security threats still present following Operation Protective Edge.Just this Tuesday the ceasefire reached with the terrorist group Hamas on August 26 was breached by mortar fire, although Hamas, which has breached numerous ceasefires, denied involvement and said it arrested the perpetrators."There are a lot of concerns, even without connection to the (mortar) fire yesterday," Danny Cohen of Kibbutz Ein Hashlosha in the region told Yedioth Aharonoth. "People are concerned about Hamas's plans...the traditional (Rosh Hashana) party we throw will be very reduced this year. If last year we had 150 people, this year there will be 60."The concerns particularly revolve around the threat of an attack occurring on Rosh Hashana. "I'm going to hold the holidays elsewhere with friends," said Silvia Orshovsky of Ein Hashlosha, who owns a local market that was hit by a mortar round during the operation. "We're worried about what might happen on Rosh Hashana. It's a fact that the firing started yesterday. In this way trickles (of rocket fire) start. People are very afraid, I want to be secure."During the operation, it was revealed that Hamas was planning to use its lethal terror tunnels to commit a massacre against Jews in the region on Rosh Hashana. While over 30 of those tunnels were destroyed by the IDF, there are fears that not all were located.Likewise, it has been revealed the Hamas and other Gaza terrorist groups such as Islamic Jihad have already started rebuilding the tunnels. Video evidence shows that the renewed digging of the tunnels started even minutes after the ceasefire.

"We didn't expect anything else"

Many residents of the area expressed their feelings of abandonment in terms of security by the government in the wake of the operation.Meirav Cohen, also of Kibbutz Ein Hashlosha, told Walla! "we didn't think that things would look differently after the war ended as it did, we didn't expect anything else." The comment refers to the ceasefire that was widely opposed by the Israeli public according to polls.Meanwhile in Kibbutz Nahal Oz, where four-year-old Daniel Tragerman hy''d was tragically murdered by a mortar shell on his home, 17 families have already announced they will be leaving the kibbutz - either for good or for at least for a year away. Those include the family of Tragerman. The sentiment of many residents of the south was expressed by Romi Shehori of Nirim, who said "we will hold the holiday far away and pack for several days. If it won't be quiet - we'll stay there.""One of the lessons from Protective Edge was to rely only on ourselves. No one will take care of us," added Shehori. Speaking of the numerous ceasefires, he said "there was abandoning (of residents) throughout the whole war. Even if they tell us there will be quiet - we don't believe them."The dissatisfaction with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's handling of the operation was expressed by MK Danny Danon (Likud), who was dismissed from his role as deputy defense minister by Netanyahu for his criticism.Danon pointed out that Netanyahu agreed to a ceasefire early in the operation even before Hamas's terror tunnel was lethally unveiled against IDF forces in its breach of the ceasefire. Danon noted that the ceasefire Netanyahu accepted would have left the tunnel system intact to potentially be used in massacring Israelis.

GENESIS 12:1-3
1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram,(CHANGED TO ABRAHAM LATER) Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:(PALESTINE,ISRAEL)
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Canadian PM Vows to Stand With Israel 'Through Fire and Water'-Stephen Harper says international community's push for Canada, world to be 'ambivalent' on Israel is 'wrong.'By Dalit Halevy and Tova Dvorin-First Publish: 9/18/2014, 11:02 PM-ISRAELNATIONALNEWS

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper vowed to support Israel "through fire and water" on Monday, during a speech at the Ottowa Convention Center."Friends, in this fight, we also stand with the democratic State of Israel," Harper said, "as we have again this year, as Israelis have once more come under attack from the terrorist group Hamas.""I know there continue to be those who question the wisdom of our policy," he noted. "[Those] who, just as they once wished we would be more embracing of Putin, now would wish us to be more ambivalent about Israel, to go along with those who regularly single out Israel for criticism.""Friends, that position is wrong," he continued.Harper, like many, made the comparison between terror group Hamas and the global jihadist Islamic State (IS or ISIS)."What is the difference between Hamas and Israel, and ISIS and us?" he asked. "One thing: Hamas is a lot closer to Israel than ISIS is to us.""Israel is the frontline," he continued. "Anyone among the free and democratic nation that turns their back on Israel, or turns a blind eye to the nature of Israel’s enemies does so, in the long run, at their own peril.""And so: Canada will continue to stand by Israel through fire and water!" he concluded.Harper has been a staunch supporter of Israel and continued to stand up for the Jewish state during the last conflict in Gaza. The Canadian leader called on Canada’s allies and partners to recognize that Hamas’s terrorist acts “are unacceptable and that solidarity with Israel is the best way of stopping the conflict.” He also blamed Hamas for the heavy loss of civilian life in Gaza during the fighting. In January, Harper visited Israel for the first time since becoming Prime Minister. During the visit, he gave a speech in the Knesset and also showcased his musical talent during a special dinner with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

Released: The "Official" List of Hamas Violations of Int'l Law-NY-based legal rights group publishes list of blatant Hamas violations, ahead of UN investigation of Israeli "war crimes."By Hillel Fendel-First Publish: 9/18/2014, 9:04 PM-ISRAELNATIONALNEWS

In advance of the UN Human Rights Council investigation of Israeli "war crimes" in Gaza this summer, the Lawfare Project has compiled a detailed list of "Hamas's Violations of International Law."The UNHRC has appointed a three-member committee to investigate "all violations of international humanitarian law" during the recent war in Gaza. It explained its one-sided intentions by "condemn[ing] in the strongest terms the widespread, systematic and gross violations of international human rights and fundamental freedoms arising from the Israeli military operations..."The New York-based Lawfare Project attempts to safeguard against the abuse of the law as a weapon of war. It turned its attentions this month to ensuring that international law is not turned against Israel, in the face of Hamas indiscriminate rocket and tunnel attacks against Israel. It is well-known that Hamas used, in various ways, its civilian population as shields in the face of Israeli missile attacks, while firing rockets at Israeli population centers and tunneling into Israel for the purpose of facilitating terrorist attacks. However, the exact international laws that Hamas has violated are not widely understood, and the Lawfare Project has prepared an 11-page document to fill in this gap.The document lists the specific rule violated by Hamas, and provides documentation of the violations. For instance, Rule 1 of Customary International Humanitarian Law is the Principle of Distinction between Civilians and Combatants. The Lawfare Project notes that the U.S. State Department has condemned Hamas rocket fire on Israeli civilians, and Hamas itself declared that all Israelis had become targets for its missile attacks.Hamas has admitted violating the rule requiring advance warning of attacks, and the UN Relief and Works Agency said it found rockets hidden by Hamas in a school – in violation of Rule 22 (Precautions Against the Effects of Attacks). The full Lawfare Project report can be seen here.Further underlining the expected anti-Israel bias and decisions of the UNHRC commission is its chairman, William Schabas, who has frequently accused Israel and its leaders of war crimes in the past.

Thousands' Sneaked Out of Gaza During Operation Protective Edge-Wrecked smuggling ship kills 100 Gazans en route to Italy, part of a mass exodus fleeing the Hamas enclave in recent months.By AFP, Arutz Sheva Staff-First Publish: 9/18/2014, 5:45 PM-ISRAELNATIONALNEWS

A human smuggling ship reportedly was intentionally capsized by traffickers last week off the coast of Malta, killing all but four of the 100 Gaza residents on board who were part of "thousands" of Gazans fleeing the Hamas stronghold in recent months.Osama, who lives in the United Arab Emirates and whose 23-year-old brother Yasser was on the ship, revealed to AFP details about Gaza's human trafficking network, which Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction exposed as being run by Hamas. Yasser boarded the Italy-bound ship with 500 other passengers at Damietta in Egypt last week, after struggling to find work in Gaza following his graduation from a local Gazan university last year."There is no future for them in Gaza," Osama told AFP. "I tried to bring him to the Emirates but after seeing several of his friends reach Europe by boat, he decided to leave too." Osama said he still doesn't know if Yasser was among the ten total survivors of the shipwreck. While Osama said Yasser crossed the Rafah crossing and paid "local Egyptians" $3,000 to fix passage to Europe, he added "you never know who you're giving the money too."As noted, Fatah revealed this week that Hamas is running a human smuggling network, charging between $2,000 and $3,500 per person to traffic Gazans to Europe via Egypt.

"Thousands" have left Gaza in the last two months

Despite the recent Egyptian siege and Israeli blockade on the Hamas-enclave of Gaza, reportedly thousands of residents of the coastal strip of land have illegally made their way out in recent months through Hamas's smuggling tunnels to Sinai. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) estimates that some 2,890 self-defined "Palestinians" have arrived in Italy this year. Some doubt has been cast on that figure, as some migrants claim to be "Palestinians" to avoid repatriation to countries with extradition agreements with the European Union (EU).However, a Gaza-based human rights worker confirmed the appraisal, revealing to AFP "we estimate that thousands of people have left the Gaza Strip clandestinely over the past two months, especially during the war," referring to Operation Protective Edge."Due to the fact they left through tunnels to Egypt - an illegal, secret way to leave - we have no precise figure," added the worker, speaking on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter.Hamas has remained markedly tight-lipped about the entire issue of residents fleeing their territory, where they are often used as human shields directly on top of targeted buildings, or indirectly due to Hamas embedding its terrorist infrastructure in civilian centers.Hamas official Iyad al-Buzum claimed to AFP there are only "isolated cases (of emigration), which do not reach into the hundreds."However, Raji Sourani, director of the Gaza-based Palestinian Center for Human Rights, said if the numbers are indeed limited, it is merely because Hamas is not allowing residents to leave freely."If Gazans had the right to free movement, tens of thousands of young people would leave the country because all their opportunities are blocked here," said Sourani, incorrectly referring to Gaza as a "country."The appraisal by the Gaza human rights director surprisingly dovetails nicely with the strategy proposed by MK Moshe Feiglin (Likud), who during the operation called on Israel to provide a financial stimulus for Arab residents to leave Gaza, allowing the Jewish state to declare sovereignty over the region.

Huge Increase in Demand for IDF Holiday Prayer Services-To help satisfy the huge demand for holiday services, a group of Hesder graduates is sending volunteers to IDF bases.By Moshe Cohen-First Publish: 9/18/2014, 12:50 PM-ISRAELNATIONALNEWS

Whether it's as a response to Operation Protective Edge or for some other reason, demand for cantors, Torah readers, rabbis, and others to lead synagogue services in IDF bases is at an all-time high. To help satisfy the demand, graduates of Hesder yeshivas are organizing groups of soldiers, reserve troops, and non-military Israelis to join soldiers on bases during the High Holidays.Generally, groups from institutions like Beit Orot, one of the yeshivas organizing the effort, would provide assistance for Yom Kippur, when “everybody” goes to prayer services. This year, however, there is also a great demand for people to help run services on Rosh Hashana, which begins next week. Among those the group is seeking are qualified shofar-blowers, who are very much in demand during the holiday, where the highlight of prayers is the sounding of the ram's horn. One of the organizers, Yisrael Speyer, attributes the demand to the summer war. “We got a huge increase in the number of inquiries from the army, and we need volunteers to ensure that every soldier who wants to can pray and hear the shofar."Speyer and his friend Nadav Malka, both graduates of Yeshivat Beit Orot, said that they had often come across situations at IDF bases where soldiers wanted to hold services, but either did not know how, or could not scratch up the quorum of ten men required to hold organized services. To that end, they set up a hotline called “Tzav Hashana,” which soldiers can contact, outlining the needs on their bases and getting assistance.Last year, the group had 100 volunteers, most of whom “worked” on Yom Kippur. In the light of the much greater demand this year, Speyer said, the group needed a lot more people. “The demand is definitely being caused by the experiences of many soldiers during Operation Protective Edge, and this is a great opportunity for us to reach out to these soldiers and help them have a 'down-home holiday,' even if they are far away from family.”
