Bill Cosby forced to confront abuse allegations in midst of Ontario show-The Canadian Press By Diana Mehta, The Canadian Press | JAN 09,15-YAHOONEWS

LONDON, Ont. - Bill Cosby was forced to publicly confront the sexual assault allegations that have dogged him for weeks when a heckler at the second stop on his three-city Canadian tour yelled out a direct accusation."You are a rapist," the man shouted on Thursday night as he was removed from the theatre in London, Ont., as the audience started to tell him to be quiet.Cosby paused midway through a joke and stood up, asking the crowd not to react."No, no, stop," he said waving his hands. "Stop it, Shh.""That's all right," he continued as the man was escorted out by police. "Patience."One audience member yelled out "we love you" to Cosby before the comedian sat back down and continued on with his routine, which was interrupted a minute later by a round of applause. The same heckler had earlier yelled out "we don't love you" while Cosby was on stage, to which the comedian responded with "OK" before carrying on with a joke. The heckler's comments created the most tense moments of a show which had begun with ticketholders having to make their way into the venue past protesters who asked them why they supported "an American rapist." Security at the venue was heavy, with bags being searched, ticketholders being patted down and a strict zero electronics policy in effect inside the theatre. The venue was also sparsely populated, with many empty seats. A few ticketholders also appeared to leave during the show.Cosby did appear at one point to make light of the controversy he's facing. When a woman got up from one of the front rows and walked past the stage, Cosby asked her where she was going. When she said she was going to the lobby to grab a drink Cosby responded with a line heavy with innuendo."You have to be careful about drinking around me," he said to loud applause.Cosby is facing a slew of sexual assault allegations — in recent weeks at least 18 women, including three who came forward in Los Angeles on Wednesday, have accused him of sexually assaulting them, with some claims dating back decades. The 77-year-old comedian has never been criminally charged in connection with the allegations and has denied them through his lawyer. The allegations — and Thursday night's in-show heckling — didn't appear to bother audience members who gave Cosby a standing ovation at the end of his performance."Thank you all very very much," he said, raising both hands in the air. "Thank you, thank you, thank you."In a statement released through his publicist after the show, Cosby acknowledged the "one outburst" that had taken place but called his fans "loyal, patient and courageous.""I thank you, the theatre staff (Budweiser Gardens), the event organizers and the London, ON Community for your continued honour and support," he said.

"I'm Far From Finished."

Many leaving the theatre said Cosby had handled an uncomfortable situation with aplomb."It didn't ruin the show at all, it was a great show," said Sofia Saeed. "He calmed everybody down, he was a gentleman." Saeed added that Cosby deserved the benefit of the doubt."We are living in a democratic society. You are innocent until proven guilty," she said. "The guy is just trying to make a living and do what he does best." Others who chose to skip out on the show felt differently though.Karen Ann Bridge was one of them. The 50-year-old had bought tickets to go see the comedian in London with her family but changed her mind about attending after the barrage of allegations against Cosby came to light."I don't think I could ever watch a show from him now without that being at the back of my mind," said the 50-year-old. "These are just allegations but they still don't sit with me well ... Women don't lie about these things."Protesters who stood on the steps leading into the venue on Thursday night echoed Bridge's feelings."Why is he here when he's suspected. He should not be here and making money off of us. It's wrong," said Nadia Panton, who stood in the snow holding a sign."We don't want you here. Go home. You're suspected of doing very bad things." Cosby is scheduled to perform in Hamilton on Friday, the last of his Ontario shows. A protest was being planned outside that performance as well.

Gloria Allred Introduces 3 New Bill Cosby Accusers, Criticizes Phylicia Rashad-Posted: 01/07/2015 5:50 pm EST Updated: 01/08/2015 12:59 am EST-GLORIA ALLRED-THE HUFFINGTON POST

In a Wednesday Jan. 7 press conference, lawyer Gloria Allred introduced three women who have come forward for the first time to accuse Bill Cosby of sexual assault.Opening the conference, Allred criticized actress Phylicia Rashad, who played Cosby's wife on "The Cosby Show," for her recent statements in support of the 77-year-old comedian. In response to Rashad's comment that the public should disregard Cosby's accusers and "forget those women," Allred said:Phylicia, I vow to you that I will not forget these women, because women matter. They deserve respect and dignity. Phylicia, you should be supporting these women rather than joining Cosby's paid "attack dogs" who are trying to undermine them in any way they can.Accompanying Allred were three women introduced as Linda Kirkpatrick, Lynn Neal and "Kacey." Each woman read a statement, describing their experiences with Cosby in great detail, but declining to take any questions. The stories all followed the familiar patterns of grooming, drugging and then assault that have characterized all of the accusations against the famous comedian.

LINDA KIRKPATRICK
Kirkpatrick claimed that she met Cosby at a tennis tournament in Las Vegas in 1981, where he invited her to see his show. She alleges that he offered her a drink during a party in his dressing room, after which she blacked out and came to to find Cosby on top of her, kissing her forcefully. Kirkpatrick says that she went back to the show the following night after Cosby apologized, and that he aggressively kissed her and tried to take his advances further despite her insistence that she was not interested in a sexual encounter. She managed to leave before any further assault occurred.

LYNN NEAL
Neal said that she met Cosby while she was working as a therapist at a health club where he was a regular client. Cosby allegedly invited her to see his show, where he offered her drinks and would not let her eat. After the show, Neal says she began feeling "disoriented and confused." She claims that Cosby then walked her to his dressing room where he raped her."He built my trust by pretending to be a friend," Neal said in her statement. "He drugged and raped me. He betrayed my trust and took advantage of me."

KACEY
Kacey, who did not want her real name shared and grew emotional as she read her statement, alleges that Cosby drugged and assaulted her in 1996 while she was working for Tom Illius, Cosby's agent at the William Morris Agency. In a statement provided to press, Kacey revealed that she had a friendly working relationship with Cosby and considered him a "father figure or favorite uncle." She and her children had dined with Cosby and other colleagues before, and she took calls from him at her home. During a one-on-one meeting at the Bel Air hotel where Cosby had invited her to discuss her future career plans, Kacey claims that he insisted she take a "large white pill" to help her "relax," after which she remembers nothing until she woke up in a bed next to Cosby, who was naked under a bathrobe. The Huffington Post contacted Cosby's representatives for comment about these allegations, but had not heard back at the time of publication. In a Q&A after the statements were read, Allred addressed legal options that she believed could be enacted given that the statute of limitations has passed on all known cases.“I have been in contact with Mr. Cosby’s representatives in regard to the two challenges or invitations that I have offered to him. One was that he invite all the women to sue and he agree that he would not assert his statute of limitations.”She pointed to the actions of Alan Dershowitz, the famous criminal lawyer who was recently named in an alleged underage prostitution and sexual abuse scandal who invited his accuser to sue, with the stipulation that he would not invoke the statute and allow the case to proceed.Alternatively, Allred believes that arbitration or mediation -- a closed door, confidential negotiation between Cosby, his accusers and a retired judge would be an attractive option for closure.Neither option had been accepted by Cosby’s team.Allred ducked repeated questions as to how many anonymous victims had approached her, but alluded to their existence.“I have no doubt that there will be efforts to undermine any and all who come forward,” Allred said.
