WE HAVE ANOTHER MISSING PLANE IN THE INDONESIA AREA.THIS TIME A ATR42- 300 TWIN TURBOPROP GOES MISSING FROM INDONESIA JAYAPURA TO OKSIBIL WITH 54 PEOPLE ON BOARD.44 ADULTS-5 CREW-3 INFANTS-2 CHILDREN. THE PLANE LEFT JAYAPURA AT 02:10PM AND WAS TO LAND AT OKSIBIL AT 3:00PM. AND WAS CONTACT LOST AT 2:50PM-AND IS CURRENTLY MISSING. ITS NOW DARK IN INDONESIA.AND THE SEARCH IS CALLED OFF FOR ATR-42-300 UNTIL TOMORROW. INDONESIA IS NOT SAYING IT CRASHED. AND THERE WAS NO DISTRESS CALL FROM THE PLANE.

INDONESIA HAS JUST CONFIRMED THEY HAVE FOUND THE CRASH SITE OF ATR42-300 MISSING PLANE. PEOPLE IN THE AREA REPORTED THAT THEY SEEN A AIRPLANE CRASH INTO THE MOUNTAINS.THERE NOT SAYING IF ANY ONE SURVIVED THE PLANE CRASH.

The Trigana Air ATR 42 turboprop plane lost contact just before 3pm (7am Irish time) after taking off from Sentani airport in Papua's capital Jayapura on a flight to Oksibil, the agency said on Twitter.The plane was carrying 44 adults, five children and five crew on the flight which was scheduled to take about 45 minutes, the agency said.It had left Jayapura about half an hour before it disappeared, it added.Transport ministry spokesman JA Barata confirmed the plane had lost contact and said it was supposed to arrive at Oksibil airport just after 3pm (local time)."We are not sure what happened to the plane yet and we are co-ordinating with local authorities," he told AFP."The weather is currently very bad there, it's very dark and cloudy. It's not conducive for a search. The area is mountainous."According to the Aviation Safety Network, an onlinedatabase, the ATR 42-300 had its first flight 27 years ago. ATR is a joint venture between Airbus and Alenia Aermacchi, a subsidiary of Italian aerospace firm Finmeccanica.Trigana has been on the EU blacklist of banned carriers since 2007.Airlines on the list are barred from operating in European airspace due to either concerns about its safety standards, or concerns about the regulatory environment in its country of registration.The airline has a fleet of 14 aircraft, according to the airfleets.com database. These include 10 ATR aircraft and four Boeing 737 classics. These have an average age of 26.6 years, according to the database.Trigana has had 14 serious incidents since it began operations in 1991, according to the Aviation Safety Network's online database. Excluding this latest incident, it has written off 10 aircraft.Indonesia has a patchy aviation safety record and has seen two major plane crashes in the past year, including an AirAsia flight that went down in the Java Sea, killing all 162 on board. Villagers in eastern Indonesia's Papua say that a plane which went missing in the province Sunday with 54 people aboard has crashed, an official said Sunday."The plane has been found (by villagers). According to residents, the flight had crashed into a mountain. Indonesian search and rescue agencies are hunting for a passenger plane that went missing over the remote eastern region of Papua, with 54 people on board.The plane, flight number TGN267, failed to arrive at its destination of Oksibil as scheduled after contact was lost with the plane, according to the National Search and Rescue Agency (BASARNAS).According to the agency's official Twitter account, the domestic aircraft, belonging to the Indonesian Trigana Air Service, was carrying 44 adult passengers, five crew and five children and infants.The Trigana Air ATR 42-300 turboprop plane took off from Sentani airport in the region's capital Jayapura on a flight to Oksibil, located south of the city. But it is reported to have lost contact 33 minutes after take-off, just before 3.00pm (6.00am GMT). The flight between Sentani airport and Oksibil should take around 45 minutes. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Disrupted air travel along the heavily populated U.S. East Coast was resuming normal operations on Saturday after the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration said it had fixed an automation problem at an air traffic center that led to hundreds of flight cancellations.The FAA said an air traffic center in Leesburg, Virginia was thought to be the cause of the issue which canceled more than 440 flights for hours and caused hundreds of other flights to be delayed during the busy August travel season.The FAA said it was working with carriers to resume normal service and that the problem "has nothing to do with an accident or hacking."The biggest bottlenecks were at airports around the nation's capital, where thousands of passengers were left waiting for planes delayed for hours or had to rearrange travel plans because their flights were canceled.More than 440 flights were canceled at airports along the U.S. East Coast on Saturday, according to flightaware.com, a service that tracks global air service.By comparison, large and severe weather systems in the United States can cause more than 1,000 cancellations in a day.Tens of thousands of passengers were affected as flights up and down the Atlantic Coast were canceled or delayed."The FAA is continuing its root cause analysis to determine what caused the problem and is working closely with the airlines to minimize impacts to travelers," it said in a statement.(Reporting by Lisa Lambert, Will Dunham, Jon Herskovitz and Letitia Stein; Writing by Jon Herskovitz; Editing by Tom Heneghan, Alan Crosby and Bernard Orr)
