The Latest: Pope Francis welcomed by schoolchildren in troubled Central African Republic-By The Associated Press | The Canadian Press – NOV 29,15-YAHOONEWS

BANGUI, Central African Republic - The latest on Pope Francis' first trip to Africa. (All times local.)-2 p.m.The interim president of Central African Republic has thanked Pope Francis for his "lesson in courage" in coming to the conflict-ridden country, saying his presence showed the "victory of faith over fear."In a welcoming address at the presidential palace Sunday, President Catherine Samba-Panza said Francis' message of peace and reconciliation was necessary. She said that all Central Africans need forgiveness and pardon, starting with herself. She said: "In the name of the entire governing class of this country and also in the name of all those who have contributed in some way to its descent into hell, I confess all the evil that has been done here over history and ask forgiveness from the bottom of my heart."She said she hoped Francis' visit would result in the "demons of division, hatred and self-destruction being exorcised and chased forever from our land and that our country can find again the path of a new spirituality anchored in tolerance, love of one another and respect for human dignity and established authority."— Nicole Winfield, Bangui-___12:35 p.m.Pope Francis says he has come to Central African Republic as a "pilgrim of peace, an apostle of hope" and is encouraging the country to disarm and reconcile. In comments upon his arrival Sunday, Francis told Interim President Catherine Samba-Panza and the diplomatic corps that he hoped upcoming elections will enable the conflict-torn country to "serenely begin a new phase of its history."Speaking for the first time in public in French, he encouraged the country to follow a path of solidarity "for reconciliation, disarmament, consolidation of peace, health care and in the culture of a healthy administration at all levels."He called for the country's people to recognize their "unity in diversity" — and not allow religious differences to divide them."It's about living and building from the marvelous diversity of the world around us, avoiding the temptation of fearing the other, of what is unfamiliar, of those who don't belong to our ethnic group, our political choices or political confession."— Nicole Winfield, Bangui-___11:45 a.m.Schoolgirls in yellow and white dresses — the colours of the Holy See flag — and authorities from Central African Republic have welcomed Pope Francis at a heavily secured Bangui airport for the final leg of his three-nation African trip.Francis' Alitalia charter landed just beyond the settlement for displaced residents that has cropped up on the airport's edge, housing some of the people who have been uprooted during two years of sectarian violence in the country. As Francis emerged, a huge cheer broke out from the small crowd. Troops stood guard in the grasslands off the tarmac, and Francis' bodyguards stood close. A mix of Vatican, U.N. and other security forces were on hand.Thousands of people lined his motorcade route, cheering even as the press busses passed by, escorted by U.N. troops.— Nicole Winfield, Bangui___10:15 a.m.Pope Francis has landed in the capital of Central African Republic, his final stop in Africa and where he will seek to heal a country wracked by conflict between Muslims and Christians. The pope plans to visit a displacement camp later Sunday in Bangui where Christians have sought protection amid the ongoing violence. On Monday he is due to visit a mosque in the capital's Muslim enclave that has become a shelter for throngs of Muslims driven from their homes. There were concerns that Francis would cancel his trip to Bangui given the latest wave of violence that has left at least 100 people dead since late September.Only 15,000 Muslims remain in the capital after ongoing attacks forced more than 100,000 to flee in fear of their lives.— Krista Larson, Bangui-___10 a.m.Pope Francis has left Uganda and is on his way to Central African Republic, the third and last leg of his pilgrimage to Africa.Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and local Catholic leaders bid him farewell at the international airport in the lakeside town of Entebbe. In Uganda, Francis honoured the memory of a group of Christians, known as the Uganda Martyrs, who were killed in the late 19th century when they refused to renounce their faith. He urged the faithful to emulate the example of the 45 Anglican and Catholic martyrs. He is now embarking on the most challenging part of the trip — Central African Republic is a country where violence between Christian and Muslim militants has forced nearly 1 million from their homes over the last two years and created a divided capital. While sectarian clashes have left at least 100 people dead over the last two months, recent days have been relatively free of gunfire, and President Catherine Samba-Panza says the pope is being awaited as a "peace messenger."— Rodney Muhumuza, Kampala

Leaders of 5 Greek political parties fail to agree on pension reforms-By The Associated Press | The Canadian Press – NOV 29,15-YAHOONEWS

ATHENS, Greece - The leaders of five of the seven parties represented in Greece's Parliament have failed to agree on pension reforms after a six-hour meeting, prompting the prime minister to criticize the opposition for being "irresponsible" and "unserious."Alexis Tsipras, who didn't back moves by other governments while he was in opposition, had hoped to get the opposition parties to agree on a statement that called for no further pension cuts and present this as a bargaining chip in talks with Greece's creditors.Tsipras' left-led government last summer signed Greece's third bailout deal since 2010, agreeing to deep spending cuts, including on pensions, in return for financial assistance to keep the heavily indebted country afloat. The leaders did agree Sunday to demand more EU assistance to help it with the migrant crisis.

Satellites need protection as 'critical infrastructure,' military says-CBC – NOV 29,15-YAHOO NEWS

The military's research arm is looking for better ways to protect satellites from catastrophic failure after a 2011 space incident exposed Canada's vulnerability to communications collapse.Defence Research and Development Canada is launching an initiative with the private sector to improve the reliability of satellites threatened by space debris, harmful radiation and even software glitches that can shut down essential services, from internet access to airline flights.A Canadian space scientist referred to the strategy at an international conference in Jerusalem last month, suggesting satellites should be regarded as "critical infrastructure" requiring special public-private safeguards such as those covering nuclear power stations, hydroelectric facilities and dams."Canada does not currently specifically identify space systems as CI [critical infrastructure], however it is noted that space systems do have a highly important role to play in many CI sectors," Patrick Gavigan told the International Astronautical-Congress in mid-October.-Private sector needs a push-"This approach points to the importance of public and private sector partnerships to ensure that systems are as resilient as possible, as market forces alone are not sufficient to push companies."Gavigan cited an incident on Oct. 6, 2011, when the Anik F2 satellite — owned by Telesat Canada — was given a problematic software update that knocked it out of commission for a day.The failure wiped out communications in the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Yukon and northern Ontario, including long-distance telephone, internet, banking-machine transactions, mobile phones and television services. RCMP, medical and emergency officials were forced to use Iridium satellite phones, and regional airline First Air had to cancel 48 flights."Of particular concern was the impact on air travel, resulting implications for emergency medical travel and the availability of food and other supplies in the community," Gavigan said, referring to a post-incident analysis by the government of Nunavut. The Anik F2 failure highlighted a "cascade effect" as various dependent systems shut down, similar to previous Anik satellite failures in 1994."Space is certainly a very important part of our day-to-day lives," Gavigan said in an interview from his Ottawa office. "Can we draw on lessons from how we manage [critical infrastructure] and can we apply these types of lessons to space?"Most space systems serving Canada are operated if not owned by the private sector, including the country's first and only military satellite, Sapphire, launched in 2013."As the government of Canada does not operate these spacecraft directly, the government's role of ensuring that the public interest is satisfied must work in the context of the relationship with the private sector operators of the space systems," Gavigan said.Find common ground-The military's next step is to solicit information from the private sector about how to share reliability-testing technology and methods so all space systems can benefit, rather than rely on the current balkanized approach where each corporation tends to its own orbiting hardware."I'm in the process … of reaching out to companies," said Gavigan, who has previously researched ways in which satellites can move safely out of the path of space debris with just three days' notice."Admittedly, it's early stages, but what I'm hoping to do is to try to find common ground."Orbiting satellites have been subject to much greater risks since January 2007, when China destroyed an old weather satellite in a test of a military weapon. The incident created up to 3,000 pieces of space debris, as did a February 2009 accidental collision of an American satellite with a Russian one.The Canadian Space Agency receives about one alert each month about space-debris threats to its satellites, including two Radarsats, the NEOSSat and its aging SCISAT-1. The satellites more often require manoeuvres to avoid collisions.Follow @DeanBeeby on Twitter

Hypocrite: “Hyperfeminist” Wynne wears hijab in segregated mosque “like a good little submissive woman”-Posted by Ezra Levant on November 24, 2015 in TheRebel.Media |

Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne is a hyperfeminist, a lesbian activist. She hates patriarchies, especially old white men who tell women what to do.But watch and I’ll show you a photo that she herself published, wearing a hijab and sitting in the women’s only section of an Ottawa mosque, like a good little subservient, submissive woman, obedient to sharia law! Of course, if sharia law were really in effect, she’d be thrown off the top of an apartment block, or hanged from a crane, which is the usual death sentence for homosexuality under radical Islam. This isn’t just a case of, anything for a vote. It’s an insight into her mind. She despises our western, Judeo-Christian culture. But she’s an obedient little girl when it comes to the most reactionary patriarchy in the world — radical Islam.Trudeau’s Liberals MUST halt plans to bring in 25,000 Syrian refugees until they can guarantee the safety of the Canadian people.Believe that Muslim face coverings have no place in Canada?

Freedom of Speech Doesn’t Mean “Free” Speech-Author-By Jim Yardley -- Bio and Archives  November 29, 2015-canada free press

The phrases “free speech” and “freedom of speech” are being used over and over as if they were interchangeable.  Yet they mean utterly different things. The actual phrase “freedom of speech” is used in the First Amendment of the Constitution. See for yourself (with emphasis added):Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. It is always important to remember that the Constitution of the United States is not a law written by the government to control and limit the activities of the citizens. That is exactly backwards. The Constitution was authorized and approved by the early American revolutionaries to limit and control the activities of the government itself. The First Amendment made clear that Congress cannot abridge the freedom of speech. Yet over and over again, it’s interpreted to be freedom from interference and abridgment of speech by someone who’s not in the government and does not represent the government. The children that we have in our colleges and universities in this country today seem to believe that if anything said by anyone offends them, if anything said by anyone hurts their feelings, or if anything said by anyone makes them feel threatened can be suppressed, forbidden and punished.Sorry to tell you, but it seems that our students are right. At least in the legal sense. They are not in the government and they don’t represent the government, so the First Amendment doesn’t protect you or me from their desire to suppress what we say that might upset them.On the bright side, it also means that their speech and their demands, are also not protected speech. Well it’s not protected by the government. The government itself cannot “abridge their freedom of speech” but this is not to say that the administrations of universities, colleges, trade schools and any other form of higher education is legally required to pretend that they are the government itself and therefore must protect the “right” to speak their minds no matter how ludicrous what comes out of their mouths may appear to be.It appears that the First Amendment protects your freedom of speech from the government. But it does not protect what is commonly known as “free speech”.Most Americans interpret (incorrectly) the phrase “free speech” as literally meaning your speech will never have a cost attached to it. It’s free! You can say whatever you want without any fear of retaliation, or punishment, or adverse impacts. Only a fool who lives in an fantasy world could possibly believe that.Want proof?-There’s a significant difference between having the legally protected “right” to say whatever you like and the good “sense” not to say it. Let’s just say, for example, you walk into your bedroom while your wife is getting dressed. Then the most dangerous question that could possibly be asked of any man springs forth from the mouth of your spouse: “Does this dress make me look fat?”Now any experienced man would say something along the lines of “Honey, of course not. Whenever I look at you, I see the same girl I married.”However, the student body at Mizzou (or Yale, Dartmouth, Harvard, etc., etc., etc.) feeling that they are guaranteed the right, the legal right, to say whatever pops into their pinhead brains something more like “Boy do you ever look fat in that!  You look like an 18-wheeler going down the street with both back doors open.” It would be a safe bet that anyone who “exercises” their legal right to express their opinions will be introduced, forcefully, to the legal concept of “alimony”.See the difference between “freedom of speech” and “free speech”.If the employee of a private corporation announces to the world that his or her employer makes second rate products it is unlikely they will stay in the employ of this corporation much longer than it takes for the payroll department cut the final check for this individual. They may also find themselves the target of a lawsuit claiming defamation or libel or slander or any other charges the private corporation’s attorneys can come up with.It appears that many people believe that no one, not just the government but no one, can preemptively deny you the right to say whatever pops into your head.  Of course the only way an employer could do that, would be to require that employees clear whatever they say or write before they say it or write it. Of course trying to get employees to submit their thoughts and words to an employer is not only logistically impossible, but the adverse public relations impact would be a disaster. But terminating an employee who attacks his own employer could be a case in point of legal retaliation. There’s no doubt in my mind that many universities might be considered “part of the government”. Since many state colleges and universities are primarily funded by government largess, they might have a case forcing them to protect “freedom of speech”. Of course that protection, constitutionally, would not extend to a forceful response to students who ignore the regulations of such institutions. But the students would undoubtedly get aid from lawyers representing the extreme left.Again, the protection of “freedom of speech” is not the same as “free speech”.  Sadly, the school system here in the United States fails miserably at teaching students, at all levels, what the Constitution does, and does not, guarantee. The Constitution does offer us multiple protections from our own government. Unfortunately it provides us with an equal number of headaches from that very same government.

Over 600 join rally urging City of Toronto to ‘stop bullying Christians’-freedom of religion , toronto , voices of the nations-canada free press

TORONTO, November 24, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) – An estimated 600 to 700 participants at the “Stop bullying Christians” rally prayed, listened, waved signs, danced and sang hymns in Toronto’s Dundas Square on a cold, overcast Saturday afternoon before marching to City Hall to protest what they say is the city’s blatant discrimination against Christians.Rally organizer David Lynn urged the crowd, which gathered on one side of Yonge Street to face an Eaton’s Centre teeming with Christmas shoppers, to stand up for their Christian faith whatever the cost.“Stop being afraid!” said the charismatic street preacher and pastor-founder of the non-denominational Christ’s Forgiveness Ministries. “I am a Christian! You are a Christian! And being a Christian is the greatest thing that you could ever be!”The rally was the latest pushback against the City of Toronto and the management board of Yonge-Dundas Square’s October decision to ban the Christian group, Voices of the Nations (VON), from using the square for its annual August music event.Peter Ruparelia, president of Voices of the Nations, with wife Beena at his right, told the rally-goers that Christians need to fight discrimination together: “We are one. I thank you.” Lianne Laurence / LifeSiteNews-Voices of the Nations was denied a permit to use the square for the first time in six years because it allegedly violated a law against proselytizing in the public square.“If you’re praising Jesus, ‘praise the Lord,’ and ‘there’s no God like Jehovah,’ that type of thing, that’s proselytizing,” Natalie Belman, manager of events for Yonge-Dundas Square, told VON’s Leye Oyelami, as verified in an audio recording obtained by .LifeSiteNews subsequently launched a petition urging the city to repeal its decision, drawing about 30,000 signatures. VON director Peter Ruparelia has delivered it, along with a 10,000-name petition from TheRebel.media, to Mayor John Tory’s office.(The LifeSiteNews petition is still active and has reached 34,153 signatures, and VON now has its own petition as well.)-Calgary-based Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms, acting on VON’s behalf, threatened to sue the City of Toronto for violating VON’s religious and freedom of expression rights if it did not repeal the decision by November 10.The rally concluded with a march to Toronto’s City Hall for a prayer service, then a march back to Dundas Square. Lianne Laurence / LifeSiteNews-JCCF is now appealing the Dundas-Yonge management board’s decision to the City of Toronto on December 10, on VON’s behalf.Dr. Charles McVety, president of Canada Christian College, told Saturday’s rally that Christians should be at that public appeal hearing.“The public, that’s us, this is our city,” he said. “We need you to be there front and centre. The government doesn’t always recognize the power of God, but they do recognize power.”Faith Goldy, Christian political commentator and broadcaster, told the rally that Voices of the Nations experienced not just bullying but “illegal censorship.”“And the truth is that in this country, there is a new normal, and that is that Christians can be treated as second-class citizens,” she said. She pointed to other examples: Justin Trudeau, Liberal prime minister, “bans pro-lifers from his party,” while Ontario’s Liberal premier Kathleen Wynne “institutes gay-straight alliances and an insidious, secular sex-ed into schools that have the denominational right to teach that Jesus Christ is Lord.”“And now we are being told we cannot say ‘Jesus’ in public?” she asked. “I have a right to freedom of religion, expression, assembly, conscience, and I will exercise that right.”Goldy also excoriated Toronto Mayor John Tory.“Why so quiet, Mr. Mayor? Would you allow Muslims to be banned for daring to utter the name ‘Mohammed’? Why can we not say ‘Jesus’ in this square?” she asked rhetorically, before exhorting the crowd: “Say it with me: ‘Jesus! Jesus!’” and the crowd responded enthusiastically, as the square resounded for several minutes with the name of “Jesus!”“I hope Mayor Tory can hear you all the way from City Hall,” observed Goldy. “Because he better get used to it, because we’re not going anywhere.”Participants march down Bay Street back to Yonge-Dundas Square after praying in front of Toronto's City Hall. Lianne Laurence / LifeSiteNews-VON director Ruparelia told the rally that “to this day” the City of Toronto has not contacted him, despite a VON delegation, including himself, hand- delivering the 40,000-name petition. “So basically, they’re telling us that 40,000 people’s opinion doesn’t matter.“That’s not right.”Moreover, had it not been for their lawyers with the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms, VON would not even be aware there was an appeal process, Ruparelia said.“It’s sad ... we live in one of the best cities in the world, where all religions and cultures abide together in unity and peace,” the softspoken Ruparelia told the rally. “So it just saddens me that [the city] didn’t even email us or even acknowledge us.”He urged rally participants to contact their city councilors to protest the decision. Street preacher and rally organizer David Lynn speaks from a makeshift stage at Yonge-Dundas Square, Yonge Street behind him, telling Christians to: “Stop being afraid!" Lianne Laurence / -“I just want to thank those who came out today, from the bottom of my heart,” Ruparelia said. “We need to show unity, and right now I see unity, I see every culture, I see every denomination. We are one. I thank you.”Organizer Lynn told the crowd about his own experience of persecution in his street ministry, and that he had listened to the audio between VON’s Oleyami and Belman “and it was awful.”But “God arranged this situation so we could come together,” Lynn said.“It’s funny, I’ve learned…that every time the enemy tries to stop the Gospel, all that God does is use that to bring Christians together and to create a louder voice,” he told the crowd. “So I’m encouraged today to know that Christians are coming together, standing up and being empowered.”Lynn told LifeSiteNews that “coming to a rally, this is a new thing for the Christian community.”He sees two reasons for this. “I think a lot of Christians may not know there is a strong anti-Christian bias” in the culture, “or if they do, they’re afraid to talk about it. They don’t want any trouble, they just kind of let it go.”Lynn says that the anti-Christian prejudice “is getting worse,” but that in the history of the Christian faith, “great revivals” have occurred in the midst of persecutions.“I’m believing that Toronto will see a revival and many will get saved, and we might just spare another generation before the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” Lynn said. “It’s possible, and as we can see, so many people are rising up. It is possible.”McVety, too, stressed that Christians need to unite and stand up.VON’s Ruparelia is “under attack, and we as a church stand with him, because we know that if he falls, we fall,” he stated in prayer. “If he loses his right to proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord, then we lose our right.”Ruparelia’s wife Beena, who converted to Christianity from Hinduism, agreed. “We need to stand for Jesus,” she told LifeSiteNews. “It’s about souls. The Bible says that we have to win souls and spread the Gospel.”She reiterated that Voices of the Nations is willing to “go right to the Supreme Court” to reverse the decision by the Dundas-Square management, but right now they are looking to the appeal.“We’re just going by faith. We’re fasting and praying that they’ll overturn their decision on December 10.”Those who wish to donate to Voices of the Nations, sign their petition, or want more information on December 10 appeal, can go here.

Yonge-Dundas Square's ban of Christian concert wrong: Tory-Don Peat-Wednesday, November 25, 2015, 11:16 AM-tor sun

Mayor John Tory thinks rejecting a Christian group's request to have a concert in Yonge-Dundas Square is "a bit overboard."During a Rogers TV town hall on Tuesday night, Tory was asked about Yonge-Dundas Square management's refusal to grant a permit to the Voice of the Nations (VOTN) to hold a concert next year. The group has been granted permits in the past but VOTN says it was told the 2016 permit was rejected because "proselytizing" events weren't allowed in the square."I respectfully disagree with (Yonge-Dundas Square's) decision," Tory said. "There is a city policy that says you're not supposed to make people feel uncomfortable by having a kind of what I'll call a 'hard sell' on religion or any other kind of matter in public squares and I understand that."But based on the song lyrics he's seen, Tory argued he didn't see a problem with the group having a concert in the square."We would never think of not allowing people to have a Christmas carol service in Yonge-Dundas Square. And when people are getting up and singing the chorus to O come let us adore him, O Come All Ye Faithful, O come let us adore him - the words were like that, praise the Lord and whatever. And I say, 'Well, so fine then are we going to ban Christmas carol services too?'" he asked."I think this is a bit of how the world has gone a bit overboard on some of these things." Representatives of VOTN have said they intend to appeal the decision to the Yonge-Dundas Square Board of Management at City Hall on Dec. 10."I hope that those people will reconsider and perhaps just say, 'Look, we're counting on you to act responsibly,'" Tory said. "I hope they get their permit and I hope that people understand this is no different than a Christmas carol service."The woman who asked Tory the question approved of his answer."Praise the Lord," she told him.Asked by town hall moderator Royson James if he'll do anything about the permit, Tory said he's "still learning" about what is proper for him to intervene on and what isn't."I'm quite happy if it is proper for me to call, to call and say this is my view," he said. Abandoned in Iraq-Religious minorities were left behind by Obama's too-rapid retreat from the Middle East.-A displaced Iraqi Christian woman holds a picture of her four-year-old relative, David, who was killed by militants, at St. Joseph Church in Irbil, northern Iraq, Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014. Late Wednesday, militants overran a cluster of predominantly Christian villages alongside the country's semi-autonomous Kurdish region, sending tens of thousands of civilians and Kurdish fighters fleeing from the area, several priests in northern Iraq said Thursday.A displaced Iraqi Christian woman holds a picture of her four-year-old relative, David, who was killed by militants. “President George W. Bush would have never abandoned us,” says Faysal Shaqooli, a Yazidi from Iraq and former interpreter for the U.S. Army who sought political asylum and now lives in the Nebraska. He was one of the 150 Yazidis who arrived in Washington this week to protest in front of the White House. They pleaded for President Obama to take immediate action to help Christians and other religious minorities in Iraq. After a couple of years of disengagement in Iraq, President Barack Obama has suddenly woken up to the stark reality that the war on terrorism is far from over and the Islamic militants and terrorists are winning. To fulfill his campaign promise, Obama decided to quickly pull out U.S. troops in 2011 despite warnings of the political instability that it would create in the region. And his administration failed to develop a viable transition plan to maintain security and remain engaged in Iraq. His politically driven decision was a devastating blow to the Yazidis – whose religion blends aspects of Islam, Christianity and Zoroastrianism – and Christians, who knew that it meant the beginning of the eradication of the minority religious communities in the region. After the U.S. troops left, Shaqooli stockpiled his home with three AKs and ten 30-rounds magazines, and told his family that they would eventually need these weapons. He was right. They began to see signs of what was to come. During the month of Ramadan, if any Christians were caught eating or drinking on the streets, a militant with the Islamic State group (previously known as ISIS or ISIL) would behead them. At one point, the militants would hang the heads on a post to warn the Christians that they would need to convert to Islam or else pay the ultimate price.Conditions worsened. The Islamic State militants targeted Christians and painted their doors with the Arabic symbol ‘N’. These radical Islamists took Christians' passports and identification so that they would be unable to escape. With the American troops gone, the Iraqi forces remained weak and unprepared. Well-funded and armed, the barbaric militants have filled the void and tortured, beheaded and murdered thousands of Christians – men, women and children. These radical Islamists have raped Christian women in front of their fathers and husbands, and slayed pregnant women and their babies. They have killed their husbands and children through public executions and crucifixions. Many of these Christian women who have survived are in jail or are being trafficked. Shaqooli's sister is one of them. The Islamic militants have captured her and her four children, along with thousands of women, and their fate is unknown. For too long, the United States and the international community remained silent. They watched the genocide and persecution of these Christian minority communities from the sidelines. No world leaders, not even the pope, raised the issue until this week.U.S. airstrikes are in motion and, finally, the Islamic militants are getting what they deserve. However, as an international security expert Paul Crespo told me, the airstrikes may be “too little too late.” He warned that the U.S. would have to re-engage militarily within five years of the troop withdrawal because Obama "pulled out precipitously and walked away with no plan to maintain security and stability." Crespo says, “Since he took office, his overriding mission was to withdraw completely from Iraq without providing any strategy to ensure Iraq’s security and stability. With no leadership and no engagement, what can one expect? The president has ignored the deteriorating situation for the past year.”Our ill-advised complete pullout from Iraq has turned into a death sentence for thousands of religious minorities and women and those trying to build a civil society there. Obama’s political actions and disengagement have also hurt America’s security interests and are an offense to every American family who shed blood in the war on terror.Terrorism did not end with the death of one man. We can celebrate the capture and death of Osama Bin Laden and believe that the terrorists and radical Islamists have been weakened, but they remain strong. These dangerous radical terrorist groups share an ultimate goal, which is to end Western civilization and spread their radical Islamic hatred of non-Muslims.Women groups, churches and world leaders all need to speak up in outrage. The Islamic State’s barbaric actions need to be stopped. The gruesome human rights violations of religious minorities and women in Iraq reminds us that we need to remain vigilant and act quickly and decisively to end genocide and persecution of innocent people. And we also need to remember that the war on terrorism is far from over.
